Job Description
This position is with a hotel owned and operated by an independent franchisee, Hotel Management Pros. The franchisee is a separate entity from Marriott International, Inc., and fully controls all aspects of employment at this hotel, including hiring, firing, staffing, compensation, benefits, and employment policies. Employment in this role means you will be employed by the franchisee, not by Marriott International. The hotel operates as part of the broader hospitality industry, catering to guests with quality accommodation and services. As a maintenance personnel, you will be an integral part of the daily operations, ensuring that the hotel’s physical assets and surroundings are properly maintained to deliver a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
The Maintenance Personnel role focuses on the upkeep and repair of the hotel’s buildings, grounds, and parking lots. This includes routine maintenance tasks as well as janitorial work in public and common areas throughout the hotel. The ideal candidate will be skilled in a variety of trades such as carpentry, plumbing, mechanical repairs, painting, and HVAC maintenance. You will be expected to apply your knowledge and experience to maintain the property to high standards of safety, functionality, and aesthetics. Additionally, the role demands an ability to delegate tasks when necessary and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Attention to detail, adaptability, and a commitment to quality work are critical in this position. You will be responsible for monitoring your activities to ensure thorough and accurate completion of duties, and you must be open to feedback to improve performance continually. The role also requires adherence to federal and state safety regulations, including OSHA standards, to maintain a safe working environment. Effective communication skills are essential as you will need to clearly present and express ideas and information, both verbally and written, appropriately depending on the audience.
Employees in this position should be prepared for a variable schedule, including the possibility of working outside of normal business hours to meet the hotel's operational needs. Regular attendance and punctuality are critical to success in this role. Compensation for this hourly position ranges from $16 to $20 per hour, reflecting the skills and experience brought to the job.
The company prides itself on being an equal opportunity employer, committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace where all employees are treated fairly and with respect. If you have a passion for maintenance and a dedication to providing excellent service in a dynamic hotel environment, this opportunity offers a rewarding career with growth potential in the hospitality sector.
