The position available is for a Maintenance Mechanic II, a vital role responsible for ensuring that plant machinery and equipment remain in excellent working condition under general supervision. The role includes maintaining, analyzing, and correcting issues with standard machinery as necessary to prevent downtime and maintain efficient production workflows. This position requires a highly skilled mechanic with the ability to perform repairs, adjustments, inspections, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance across various mechanical systems within the facility.
The Maintenance Mechanic II will engage with a variety of mechanical equipment including pumps, cranes, hoists, hydraulic systems, vacuum pumps, and basic vehicle repairs. The role demands hands-on skills to dismantle devices to access defective parts, inspect for imperfections, adjust control instruments, and operate conventional power tools. Additional responsibilities include lubricating, cleaning, painting machinery, operating metalworking tools such as lathes, drill presses, and grinders, as well as driving forklifts and lifts safely.
Moreover, the Maintenance Mechanic II will have capabilities in electrical repairs, conduit installation, welding (arc, gas, TIG/MIG), and equipment installation, making this a diverse and dynamic role. The employee will also assist in the training of new hires and trainees, supporting skill development within the team. The role requires not only technical proficiency but also the ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, safety rules, and procedure manuals. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a relevant trade school program or vocational training preferred
- Ten years experience in machine tool field
- Experience in hydraulics and ability to read schematics hydraulic and electrical
- Five years of successful related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience

- Ability to work independently and follow detailed written instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Must be able to install, maintain, diagnose, and correct problems on complicated machinery and specialized plant equipment
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Knowledge of Microsoft software such as email and internet research
Job Duties
- Make repairs, replacements, adjustments, inspections, troubleshoot, and preventative maintenance on all mechanical equipment
- General mechanical maintenance on various mechanical equipment such as pumps, cranes, hoists, hydraulic systems, vacuum pumps, and basic vehicle repairs
- Dismantle devices to remove defective parts and examine for imperfections
- Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments
- Observe mechanical devices in operation and listen to identify problems
- Operate all types of conventional power tools
- Lubricate, clean, and paint machinery
- Set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts
- Drive forklift, aerial boom lifts, scissors lifts, and small truck
- Repair electrical equipment and run conduit
- Inspect used parts to determine dimensional requirements and test performance
- Install special functional and structural parts in devices
- Perform arc, gas, TIG/MIG welding
- Install new equipment
- Layout jobs and compile bill of materials
- Assist in training new employees and trainees
