Novolex is currently seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee the day-to-day availability and reliability of facility equipment while managing a team of personnel and contractors. This role is pivotal in minimizing both scheduled and unscheduled downtimes by driving a proactive, data-driven maintenance philosophy aimed at reducing costs over time. The Maintenance Manager’s responsibilities include leading predictive maintenance efforts, driving continuous improvement initiatives using tools like CMMS, PDCA, and PBS, and ensuring operational systems such as plant power, compressed air, and fire protection remain uninterrupted. This management position not only focuses on maintaining high standards of equipment reliability but also emphasizes safety, operational excellence, and cost control in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate brings at least ten years of industrial maintenance experience, including five years of leadership, and a proven track record in implementing continuous improvement methodologies. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Technical certification or associate/BA in related field preferred
- At least ten years of industrial maintenance experience
- Minimum five years of maintenance leadership experience
- Experience with 6S, A3, and continuous improvement tools
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems including Maintenance Connection and SAP
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to stand and kneel frequently
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Must have personal tools up to one inch
- Ability to work in manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, temperature variations, and moving equipment
- Available on an on-call basis
- Demonstrated compliance with company policies and procedures
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Proficient computer knowledge
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work
- Detail oriented and organized.
Job Qualifications

- Experience with continuous improvement tools including 6S, A3, PDCA, and other methodologies
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and demonstrate attention to detail
- Initiative in addressing and resolving repair issues.
Job Duties
- Drive a planned and predictive, failure elimination, data-based organization to maximize line performance
- Provide expertise, maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical and electronic components
- Respond to problems in a timely manner using the Process Interruption Rapid Response Process and keep plant management informed of special occurrences
- Assure credibility of maintenance functions by meeting committed downtimes, turning over equipment properly, providing necessary information, and fostering a data-driven organization using a CMMS
- Oversee Pre-PMs and Kitting/Staging activities to ensure effective and efficient planned maintenance downtimes
- Promote precision maintenance, PM optimization, and growth of PdM by using condition monitoring techniques like vibration, infrared, ultrasound, motor circuit evaluation, and oil sampling
- Conduct routine audits of maintenance execution to review EHS, PMS, and GMP adherence, completeness, work order accuracy, time allotment, and promote 5S housekeeping
- Utilize problem solving techniques including PDCA to find root causes, implement preventive actions, and improve operations
- Direct operation and maintenance of facility systems to provide uninterrupted plant services and support energy conservation initiatives
- Manage maintenance budget by adhering to monthly forecast, reducing spends compared to previous year, and explaining variances
- Drive a zero EHS incident culture, participate in incident investigations, correct unsafe conditions immediately, and use incidents as teaching moments
- Attend Tier meetings and utilize the Pactiv Business System for continuous improvement
- Own spare parts inventory by adjusting min/max levels, maintaining items, and reducing inventory when possible
- Oversee and support design, process changes, installations, troubleshooting, repairs, and data provision to improve maintenance and reliability
- Interpret drawings, diagrams, schematics, PLC ladder diagrams, and understand hydraulics, pneumatics, electricity, electronics, and electromechanical concepts
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards for safety
- Maintain effective communication with operators and plant supervision
- Report safety issues or hazards immediately
- Maintain excellent safety and attendance records
- Perform other assigned duties.
