Owens Corning is a globally recognized leader in building products, with a legacy that spans over eight decades since its founding in 1938. Headquartered in Toledo, Ohio, this Fortune 500 company specializes in roofing, insulation, and doors, catering primarily to residential markets in North America and Europe. Owens Corning is distinguished by its integrated go-to-market strategy, which leverages a unique combination of strengths, including its iconic brand, cutting-edge technology, robust commercial capabilities, and a competitive cost structure. This strategy enables Owens Corning to deliver superior value to customers and maintain a leadership position in the marketplace.

Committed to fostering innovation, sustainable growth, and operational excellence, Owens Corning places a strong emphasis on building partnerships, advancing performance, and engaging its workforce. The company is publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol OC and upholds a reputation as an equal opportunity employer, dedicated to creating an inclusive and supportive work environment for all employees.

The Maintenance Leader position at Owens Corning's Tallmadge Plant is a pivotal role focused on ensuring stable and reliable plant operations. This leadership role embodies the company’s core values with an unwavering commitment to safety, quality, productivity, and cost management. Reporting directly to the Tallmadge Plant Leader and being a key member of the Plant Leadership Team, the Maintenance Leader will oversee a dedicated team of approximately 12 hourly maintenance employees within a plant that operates two manufacturing lines and employs about 80 personnel in total.

The essence of this role is to cultivate a strong safety culture and lead efforts to maintain a safe, clean, and environmentally compliant workplace. This includes developing risk assessments, executing safety plans for critical tasks, and fostering a zero-incident work environment. The Maintenance Leader is also responsible for guiding and developing the maintenance team through ongoing training, engagement, and performance management to enhance skills and ensure operational reliability.

In addition to safety leadership, the Maintenance Leader will develop and implement strategic maintenance plans aligned with broader business objectives. This includes setting performance targets, managing the maintenance budget, and partnering with stakeholders to identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve safety, and enhance productivity. The role also involves continuous improvement initiatives such as root cause failure analysis and executing predictive and preventive maintenance programs to sustain high equipment reliability.

A critical aspect of the role is talent development, where the Maintenance Leader will build and maintain an effective team environment that promotes accountability, respect, and collaboration. This leader will ensure that maintenance personnel are adequately trained and certified, fostering an atmosphere where clear communication and continuous feedback help drive team and individual success.
