Job Description

Our establishment is a well-regarded hotel dedicated to providing exceptional hospitality and comfort to all guests. As part of a dynamic and guest-focused environment, the hotel prides itself on maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency throughout its premises. The property includes guest rooms, public areas such as the lobby and hallways, service zones, and outdoor spaces that require consistent upkeep and maintenance. The hotel fosters a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and attentiveness to guest needs, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere that aligns with brand standards and company values. Employment with this hotel offers the opportunity to engage in a role that is both hands-on and impactful, serving as a vital part of the hospitality experience.

The role of Maintenance Technician / Houseperson is integral to supporting the hotel's overall operation. This position combines responsibilities for maintaining the physical infrastructure of the property as well as assisting in housekeeping duties to ensure all areas meet the highest expectations. The Maintenance Technician / Houseperson is tasked with performing routine and preventative maintenance on various building systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical components. Additionally, the role requires quick response to guest service requests related to maintenance concerns, contributing to guest satisfaction and safety.

This position also involves conducting regular inspections of guest rooms, public spaces, hotel grounds, and equipment to identify and address concerns promptly. The Maintenance Technician / Houseperson plays an essential part in upkeep tasks such as programming electronic door lock systems, participating in renovation projects, and supporting energy conservation initiatives. The role requires compliance with all pertinent safety regulations at the local, state, and federal levels while maintaining a clean and hazard-free environment.

On the houseperson side, duties include cleaning and maintaining hotel public areas, removing trash and soiled linens, aiding housekeeping staff with operational needs, and ensuring all public areas remain guest-ready at all times. Effective communication with guests, team members, and vendors is crucial, as is the ability to work independently with a strong focus on problem-solving and customer service.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and preferably some technical or vocational training. While prior hotel maintenance or hospitality experience is beneficial, it is not strictly required. Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods is essential, given the hands-on nature of the work. The position typically requires availability to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts to meet business demands.

In sum, the Maintenance Technician / Houseperson plays a dual role that supports both the technical and operational excellence of the hotel. Those who succeed in this role contribute significantly to guest satisfaction, facility upkeep, and the smooth running of hotel operations, making it a rewarding career path within the hospitality industry.
