Job Description

The Westin Cape Coral Resort at Marina Village is a premier hospitality establishment located in Cape Coral, Florida. This resort is part of the renowned Marriott International portfolio, which is known globally for its commitment to providing exceptional guest experiences and promoting well-being through its wellness-oriented brand ethos. As a prominent player in the hospitality industry, The Westin Cape Coral Resort combines luxury, comfort, and state-of-the-art facilities to offer guests a memorable stay. The resort is situated conveniently on Silver King Boulevard, providing easy access to local attractions and the scenic beauty of Florida’s coast.

At The Westin Cape Coral Resort, the focus extends beyond guest accommodation to encompass a holistic approach to wellness, ensuring that guests can maintain their health, vitality, and peace of mind while traveling. The resort fosters a positive, inclusive work environment where employees are encouraged to embrace their well-being both personally and professionally. This commitment to wellness and guest satisfaction is integral to the brand’s mission to be the leading wellness brand within the hospitality sector.

The role available at The Westin Cape Coral Resort is a Part-Time Engineering and Maintenance position, specifically tailored for individuals passionate about facility upkeep and guest service. This non-management role predominantly supports the resort’s operational needs by addressing maintenance requests, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring that the property’s engineering systems function efficiently and safely. The position typically requires working overnight shifts, highlighting the need for a reliable and independent operator capable of handling a wide range of technical challenges with minimal supervision.

The Engineering position demands proficiency across multiple disciplines including air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment, and vehicle maintenance. Candidates will be responsible for troubleshooting, minor repairs, and upkeep to maintain the resort’s high standards of quality and safety. Familiarity with industry safety protocols such as Lockout/Tagout systems and the ability to work with engineering computer programs related to preventive maintenance and energy management is essential.

Additionally, the engineer acts as an essential ambassador for the resort, representing Marriott’s commitment to hospitality standards by communicating effectively with guests, acknowledging their requests promptly, and maintaining a professional appearance at all times. The role also includes the responsibility of mentoring junior engineers and potentially taking on Engineer on Duty duties, which involve conducting rounds and monitoring system readings.

This role requires a candidate with a strong technical background, preferably with at least two years in hotel engineering or maintenance, and relevant certifications including Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) certification and a valid driver’s license. The ability to uphold company standards for safety, security, and guest service while contributing positively to a team environment is crucial for success in this position.

Joining The Westin Cape Coral Resort offers the opportunity to be part of a global team recognized for fostering diversity, inclusivity, and career development. Employees are welcomed and valued for their unique backgrounds and are provided with an environment that champions equal opportunity and growth, making this more than just a job, but a purposeful career path in hospitality engineering.
