Penske Truck Leasing/Transportation Solutions is a leading global transportation provider that offers a range of innovative transportation, logistics, and technology services designed to empower companies and individuals to move forward efficiently. Headquartered in Reading, Pennsylvania, Penske is recognized for its commitment to excellence, customer satisfaction, and operational effectiveness. The company supports a variety of industries by delivering customizable and reliable solutions that meet the evolving demands of the transportation sector. By fostering a culture of integrity, teamwork, and continuous improvement, Penske has established itself as a trusted partner in the transportation and logistics landscape.
The Maintenance Coordinator position at Penske Truck Leasing is a dynamic and integral role focused on managing inventory and administrative functions within the branch or branches. This position aims to support maintenance operational efficiency, enhance customer satisfaction, and contribute to the overall profitability of the branch. Working the 2nd shift from Tuesday to Saturday with specified hours, the role may require occasional travel to off-site locations, and such travel will be compensated for both mileage and time.
In this role, the Maintenance Coordinator is entrusted with full oversight of inventory productivity, ensuring timely service support and minimizing the risk of inventory loss. Responsibilities encompass maintaining optimal inventory levels by ordering parts according to established procedures, partnering with centralized parts ordering teams, receiving and organizing parts, conducting frequent inventory cycle counts, and managing both new and used battery stock as well as tire inventory. The role demands attention to detail in tracking warranty items, ensuring timely shipments and returns, collaborating closely with the warranty department, and coordinating with the Customer Service Coordinator to align repair scheduling with parts availability.
Vendor management serves as another critical responsibility, requiring the coordinator to ensure that vendors are supported and held accountable, and that payments are processed correctly. Analytical skills are paramount as the Maintenance Coordinator conducts process analyses and reviews in key areas such as inventory management, maintenance profitability, warranty campaigns, cycle counts, and repair order reviews. Leveraging systems like ServiceNet or AS400, the coordinator identifies operational dynamics that impact profitability and suggests improvements or solutions to operational challenges.
Further, the Maintenance Coordinator supports the branch financial manager by providing necessary guidance and information to boost branch performance and profitability. The role also includes various projects and tasks assigned by the financial leadership, emphasizing the importance of collaboration, adaptability, and business acumen.
Overall, this position demands an individual who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and skilled in communication and relationship building. The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong ability to learn quickly, work collaboratively across departments, and utilize advanced computer skills with proficiency in systems such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. The role is essential to sustaining the operational excellence of the branch and requires a commitment to regular, predictable attendance and willingness to pass background and drug screenings as part of Penske's employment process.
By joining Penske, the Maintenance Coordinator becomes part of a company that values and fosters employee growth, operational innovation, and customer success. This is a remarkable opportunity for those passionate about logistics, inventory management, and operational support within a respected global transportation leader.
