Working at ThriftBooks means being part of a team that combines technology and traditional values to make a positive difference in the world of books.
The role of Maintenance Program Manager at ThriftBooks is a critical position within its operations-driven environment, supporting automated systems and equipment across multiple distribution centers. This hands-on, cross-functional role is designed for professionals passionate about technical problem solving, equipment reliability, and maintaining a safe, efficient workplace. The Maintenance Program Manager drives preventative maintenance programs, coordinates vendor relationships, and leads on-site technical teams to ensure high uptime and operational consistency of conveyor and material handling equipment. This position requires a collaborative approach, working closely with site leadership, technicians, and third-party vendors, to maintain the integrity and functionality of automation systems essential to the company’s distribution operations.
This hybrid role includes on-site presence at operational facilities and involves travel of approximately 25 to 50 percent, along with occasional weekend work during go-lives and preventative maintenance schedules. Candidates will need to be comfortable working in an active warehouse and industrial environment with exposure to moving machinery and variable site conditions. A focus on safety-first practices is paramount, reflecting the company’s dedication to protecting its employees and equipment.
At ThriftBooks, the Maintenance Program Manager will be at the forefront of continuous improvement initiatives, overseeing preventative maintenance execution, conducting routine inspections, managing maintenance logs, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. They will also lead the implementation of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), manage budgets and vendor invoicing, and provide operational support as business needs evolve. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced, evolving company that values employee development and offers competitive compensation and benefits. If you are a detail-oriented, proactive leader with a passion for mechanical systems and industrial maintenance, this position at ThriftBooks could be an exciting next step in your career.
