Univar Solutions is a prominent global distributor of chemicals and ingredients vital to everyday safety, health, and wellbeing. With a strong workforce of over 9,500 employees worldwide, the company is committed to redefining distribution and being recognized as the most valued chemical and ingredient distributor on the planet. Univar Solutions offers a comprehensive Total Rewards package, which includes competitive pay, performance incentives, and a diverse range of benefits designed to support the physical, emotional, and financial wellbeing of its employees. The company strongly emphasizes sustainability, striving to provide solutions that help keep communities healthy, fed, clean, and safe. It also champions diversity and inclusion, fostering a culture that honors the unique experiences, perspectives, and expertise of its people while promoting their professional growth and development. Equal employment opportunity is a cornerstone of its hiring philosophy, ensuring fair treatment for all candidates regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability, or veteran status.
The Maintenance position at Univar Solutions plays an essential role in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and reliability of the company’s operations. Located in an indoor/outdoor warehouse environment, this role involves performing general maintenance and repairs across multiple areas such as the Tank Farm, Warehouse, various facilities, equipment, forklifts, trailers, and trucks. The maintenance technician will be responsible not only for routine upkeep but also for more specialized tasks like welding and fabrication projects, pump and hose inspections, and the coordination of the facility’s maintenance program. This coordination ensures that all maintenance duties are completed routinely and effectively to maintain operational continuity.
Additionally, the role involves occasional maintenance and repairs of trailer pumps and may include limited warehouse manual tasks like painting, rack identification, and replacement of lighting fixtures. Outdoor maintenance such as trimming trees may also be part of the duties. The technician is expected to perform the necessary research for non-standard repairs, including working with outside contractors or vendors for complex issues, and monitoring their progress to ensure timely and proper job completion. Providing guidance and assistance to less senior maintenance workers is also a critical responsibility, reflecting the seniority of this position. This role serves as an active participant in the company’s in-plant or off-site emergency response team, further emphasizing the importance of safety and readiness. The candidate must be adept at using and maintaining respiratory protection equipment and capable of safely handling hazardous materials following company training. At least three years of maintenance experience is preferred, ideally with millwright skills. Candidates can expect strong work-life flexibility, supportive inclusion by a collaborative team, competitive pay with annual reviews, targeted annual bonuses where applicable, and comprehensive health, vision, and dental coverage among other benefits. This role offers an excellent opportunity for professionals looking to grow their careers while making a measurable impact at a leading chemical distribution company.
