Job Description
AdvantageCare Physicians (ACPNY) is a leading primary and specialty care practice serving over half a million patients across the New York metropolitan area. With a robust network of more than 30 medical offices strategically located throughout New York City’s five boroughs and Long Island, ACPNY is committed to expanding its reach and enhancing healthcare services for diverse communities throughout New York. Known for providing comprehensive healthcare solutions, the organization emphasizes patient-centered care, community outreach, and continuous improvement in medical practice. ACPNY's expansive footprint and commitment to quality make it an employer of choice for individuals seeking growth and meaningful roles in the healthcare sector.
The position available is focused on maintaining cleanliness and operational efficiency within ACPNY facilities. As a Housekeeping and Maintenance staff member, this role plays a critical part in ensuring the hygiene and safety of the environments where patients receive care and where staff perform various medical and administrative duties. This full-time role offers a competitive pay rate starting at $17.00 per hour, reflecting ACPNY’s dedication to fair and equitable compensation. This role is ideal for organized, proactive individuals who are physically capable and enjoy maintaining clean and orderly environments such as medical offices and related facilities.
In this role, the employee will be responsible for general housekeeping duties including mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and assorted maintenance activities. Additionally, the role includes more specific duties such as shoveling snow during winter months, handling deliveries, transporting supplies and materials between sites, and responsible management of hazardous waste following established safety protocols. Employees will also assist in cleaning areas exposed to hazardous or infectious spills under supervision, ensuring the safety and health standards demanded in a medical environment are upheld.
The position demands an individual who holds a high school diploma or GED and preferably has previous experience in housekeeping roles. A valid driver’s license is essential, given the requirement to travel for supply errands and storage tasks. The physical demands of standing for prolonged periods, frequent bending, twisting, and stooping, as well as the ability to lift weights up to 50 pounds, necessitate good physical health. The role sometimes requires evening or weekend work, suited for flexible candidates. This is a dynamic role within a vibrant healthcare setting, offering an opportunity for employees to grow alongside ACPNY’s expanding operations and make a tangible difference in the environments where healthcare is delivered.
