Job Description
McDonald's is a globally recognized fast-food restaurant chain known for its commitment to quality food, excellent customer service, and a clean and welcoming environment. As one of the largest and most established fast-food franchises worldwide, McDonald's operates numerous independently owned and operated restaurants. These establishments pride themselves on maintaining high standards of cleanliness, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction to ensure an outstanding dining experience for all guests. The company supports its employees with comprehensive training programs and resources to help them succeed in their respective roles, fostering a positive work environment that values diversity and equal opportunity.
This opportunity is for a Maintenance Person position at an independently owned McDonald's restaurant. The Maintenance Person plays a pivotal role in upholding the cleanliness, appearance, and functionality of the restaurant's interior and exterior. This role supports management by performing essential maintenance tasks aimed at preserving restaurant equipment and ensuring a hygienic, safe setting for both employees and customers. The Maintenance Team equips its members with the necessary tools and training, empowering them to execute their duties effectively and contribute meaningfully to the day-to-day operations of the restaurant.
The Maintenance Person's responsibilities are broad and diverse, including tasks like filtering oil fryers daily to maintain food quality, caring for the restaurant's exterior grounds to enhance curb appeal, and thoroughly cleaning equipment, windows, stock rooms, and restrooms to ensure a sanitary environment. Additionally, this role involves unloading delivery trucks twice a week, managing waste through emptying the trash compactor, and performing routine upkeep such as changing light bulbs and cleaning HVAC and exhaust units to prevent debris buildup. Each of these duties is vital in sustaining the restaurant's operational excellence and overall guest satisfaction.
Beyond the hands-on maintenance work, this role offers competitive pay and access to various benefits, demonstrating a commitment to employee wellbeing. Eligible candidates may enjoy paid vacation, educational programs through Archways to Opportunity (such as earning a high school diploma, college tuition assistance, and ESL courses), and medical, dental, and vision insurance. Additional perks include free telehealth doctor visits, free meals during shifts, and discount programs, all designed to support employees both professionally and personally.
McDonald's values diversity and provides reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities to ensure an inclusive hiring process and workplace environment. It is important to note that this position is part of a franchise-owned restaurant, which operates independently of McDonald's USA. Consequently, employment decisions and management are handled solely by the franchisee. This role offers a dynamic and supportive work environment where employees contribute to delivering an exceptional dining experience while growing within a reputable global brand.
