Job Description
McDonald's is a globally recognized fast-food restaurant chain known for its commitment to quality, service, cleanliness, and value. As one of the world's leading quick-service restaurant companies, McDonald's prides itself on delivering consistent customer experiences and maintaining high standards across its thousands of locations worldwide. Each restaurant is typically owned and operated by independent franchisees who manage their own teams but adhere strictly to McDonald's brand standards. This decentralized franchise model allows for local flexibility while ensuring global operational excellence.
This particular McDonald's restaurant is looking to hire a Restaurant Porter/Maintenance Person to join their dedicated maintenance team. This role focuses on supporting management in maintaining outstanding cleanliness inside and outside the restaurant and ensuring restaurant equipment is properly cared for and functioning efficiently. The primary maintenance person will earn $19.50 per hour, reflecting the importance of the position and the skills required. Employment is often full-time but schedules are flexible to accommodate the team and restaurant needs.
The Restaurant Porter/Maintenance Person will perform a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks essential to the smooth operation of the restaurant. Responsibilities include filtering fryer oil daily to ensure food quality and equipment longevity, maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of the outside grounds, and cleaning equipment as well as inside and outside windows. Additionally, this role involves stock room and restroom cleaning, unloading deliveries a couple of times per week, managing waste by emptying trash compactors, changing lightbulbs to keep the premises well-lit, and cleaning HVAC and exhaust units including roof debris removal.
Joining the maintenance team at this McDonald's means you receive the support, tools, and training necessary to succeed. Whether new or experienced in this type of role, employees are equipped to maintain a clean, efficient, and safe restaurant environment, which is critical to employee and customer satisfaction. Furthermore, employees enjoy a friendly work environment with growth opportunities, making this more than just a cleaning job but a foundational role within the restaurant operation.
This role also includes attractive benefits such as a 401(k) plan, competitive wages, flexible schedules perfect for balancing work and other commitments, and college tuition assistance up to $2,500 yearly for those seeking to further their education. Additional benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance options, paid time off, discounted employee meals, national employee discounts, employee recognition programs, and various discounts on everyday essentials, phone plans, and entertainment. Regular employee events and celebrations foster a welcoming and inclusive company culture.
It is important to note that this job is with a McDonald's independent franchisee and not McDonald's USA, meaning all employment decisions and operations are managed by the franchisee. Applicants should understand that McDonald's corporate offices are not involved in hiring or employment decisions for this role. Nonetheless, this position offers a great opportunity to be part of a globally recognized brand while working with a local and supportive team committed to the restaurant's success and community impact.
