Job Description
The hiring establishment is a franchise-operated McDonald’s restaurant, which is part of a globally recognized fast-food chain known for its commitment to quality service and customer satisfaction. This particular location operates independently from McDonald’s USA corporate offices and is managed by an independent franchisee. The franchisee is responsible for all employment decisions, including hiring, training, scheduling, and employee management, ensuring that each restaurant maintains the high standards of the McDonald’s brand while adapting to local community needs.
As a member of this team, the restaurant prides itself on creating a friendly and supportive work environment that promotes career growth and personal development. Employees at this restaurant benefit from a variety of tools, training programs, and resources designed to help them succeed in their roles. The restaurant emphasizes a healthy work-life balance, offering flexible schedules and benefits that cater to the diverse needs of its staff.
The role available is for a Restaurant Porter/Maintenance Person, a vital position responsible for maintaining both the interior and exterior cleanliness and functionality of the restaurant. This role plays an important part in ensuring the restaurant environment is welcoming and safe for both customers and staff. The primary responsibility involves assisting management in the upkeep of restaurant equipment and general maintenance tasks.
The Restaurant Porter/Maintenance Person makes $19.50 per hour, earning a competitive wage that acknowledges the significance of their contributions to the daily operations of the restaurant. This hourly wage positions this role as an attractive opportunity for individuals seeking stable employment in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
Key responsibilities include filtering oil fryers daily, maintaining the outside grounds of the restaurant, and cleaning various equipment components. The role also involves tasks such as cleaning inside and outside windows, stocking rooms and restrooms, unloading delivery trucks on a bi-weekly basis, managing trash compactor duties, changing light bulbs, and cleaning HVAC/exhaust units and roofing areas from debris. These duties ensure the restaurant meets high standards of hygiene, safety, and operational efficiency.
Working as part of the maintenance team, the individual will receive continuous support in the form of access to maintenance tools, training programs, and teamwork from experienced personnel. This support system is designed to help the maintenance person thrive in their responsibilities while fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
Beyond the core maintenance tasks, employees enjoy a wide range of benefits that enhance job satisfaction and overall well-being. The restaurant offers a 401(k) plan, college tuition assistance of up to $2,500 yearly, health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as paid time off (PTO). Additionally, employee meals are available at a discounted rate, and there are national employee discounts along with special recognition programs to reward outstanding performance.
Employees also have access to discounts on everyday essentials, movies, restaurants, and phone plans. The workplace environment encourages growth opportunities and regularly hosts employee events and celebrations to build morale and foster a vibrant community within the team. Through a special program called McDParks, the restaurant also provides additional perks aimed at employee development and engagement.
