The position available is for a Mainframe Systems Analyst/Developer, a critical role within Calance's client organization based in Torrance, CA. This is a long-term contract opportunity, with a duration of 12 months plus, and the position follows a hybrid work model requiring the candidate to be onsite Monday through Thursday, working 40 hours per week. The role offers competitive compensation at $66.50 per hour on a W2 basis.

The Mainframe Systems Analyst/Developer will act as a Subject Matter Expert supporting Parts Applications projects. This role demands an individual with strong expertise in mainframe technologies and the ability to work collaboratively across technical and business teams. Responsibilities include analyzing business requirements, designing and developing solutions, providing production support, and delivering enhancements throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The role involves a balanced mix of project development and production support, requiring flexibility, problem-solving skills, and deep technical knowledge.

Key activities include providing production support for existing enterprise applications, developing new enhancements and features, performing technical analysis, solution design, and comprehensive testing including unit, integration, system, and user acceptance testing. The candidate will also document and implement solutions to support business needs and enterprise technology standards. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to deliver high-quality solutions that align with organizational goals and technology roadmaps.

The ideal candidate must have recent and strong experience with critical mainframe technologies such as COBOL, CICS, JCL, IMS, VSAM, and DB2. A solid understanding of SDLC processes and experience with medium to large-scale enterprise application development is required. The individual must demonstrate capability in software engineering and solution architecture across multiple platforms, including working knowledge of infrastructure, client/server architecture, networking, and emerging technologies. Familiarity with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies is highly desirable.

Desirable additional skills include experience with Angular, support for automotive parts, warehousing, or supply chain applications, and knowledge of Microsoft development technologies like .NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, and C#. Candidates should be local or willing to relocate at their own expense to meet the onsite work requirement.
