With a strong focus on patient engagement and community involvement, the hospital has established itself as one of the most desirable places to work for healthcare professionals who value a collaborative and caring workplace culture.
The Main Lobby Concierge position at Hospital for Special Care is a vital role within the Security Department, designed to ensure the safety and smooth operation of the hospital’s main entrance. This role requires an individual who not only possesses excellent customer service skills but also demonstrates keen observational abilities and sound judgment. Scheduled for the second shift with 8 hours per week, the concierge will be responsible for greeting all visitors, issuing visitor and vendor passes to inpatients and vendors, and conducting temperature screenings to protect the health of all individuals entering the hospital. Additionally, the role requires monitoring of surveillance cameras and door access systems to maintain robust security measures throughout the facility.
This position requires standing or walking for extended periods, sitting for several hours at a time, and using various communication technologies including typing for about 35% of the workweek. The Main Lobby Concierge must be capable of performing essential cognitive functions such as problem-solving, communicating effectively in English both verbally and in writing, and understanding basic operational commands. The job also involves handling simple arithmetic tasks relevant to cashier or petty cash duties and performing basic measurement operations.
Working indoors in a high-traffic environment, the concierge will be the first point of contact for visitors, demonstrating compassion, flexibility, and good judgment in dealing with a wide variety of situations and individuals. The ideal candidate will be able to recognize suspicious behavior, act promptly and appropriately, and coordinate with security supervisors to enhance enforcement quality. Required qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively assist visitors and staff alike. The role offers a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to hospital safety and patient care experience, embodying the hospital’s commitment to exceptional service every day.
