The role available is a multi-faceted support position encompassing Workplace Services Support, Receptionist duties, and Mailroom Courier responsibilities within Bio-Rad’s NorCal sites. This position is essential in maintaining a well-organized, efficient environment vital to the smooth operation of Bio-Rad’s corporate facilities. The Workplace Services Support role involves inventorying coffee, tea, and break room supplies across multiple NorCal locations to ensure all areas are well-stocked and coordinating with janitorial staff to replenish items promptly. The individual in this capacity also coordinates conference room setups by working closely with requestors to confirm arrangements meet specifications and performing final quality checks to verify accuracy.

In the Receptionist role, the individual will act as a primary backfill for the Building 1000 receptionists during their time off, breaks, or lunch by greeting and assisting visitors, guests, and vendors promptly and professionally. They will also serve as the main switchboard operator, managing incoming calls for corporate staff, technical support, and customer service. Additionally, supporting executive administrative assistants with visitor check-in is a critical aspect of this role.

As a Mailroom Courier, responsibilities include supporting mailroom operations by picking up and delivering mail within the Hercules campus, operating postage machines and UPS label makers, sorting incoming and outgoing mail, and assisting with shipping and receiving functions. This ensures uninterrupted mailroom service even when regular staff members are absent.

This position requires a commitment to maintaining professional appearance and conduct, ensuring compliance with janitorial standards through site inspections, and maintaining accurate inventory and conference room arrangements. Compensation for this temporary position ranges from $18.94 to $23.65 per hour, dependent on factors such as location, experience, and skills. Employment for this role will be managed directly through an approved agency provider.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years mailroom and shipping/receiving experience desired
  • Minimum 2 years receptionist experience desired
  • Experience operating postage meter and mail sorter
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience utilizing SAP desired
  • Maintain professional bearing and appearance
