The role of CNC Lathe or Mill Machinist at Benchmark is key to supporting our manufacturing operations with precision and expertise. In this position, you will work with advanced CNC machinery, including DMG Mori 5-Axis Mill-Turn machines with Celos controls, OKK and Niigata mills with Fanuc controls, HAAS mills, and DMG Mori NLX-4000 lathes with Celos controls. You will operate and set up these machines, ensuring precise execution of various machining tasks. The environment combines challenge with reward, as you collaborate with passionate colleagues who take great pride in delivering high-quality results.

Your responsibilities will extend to assisting the Engineering team in planning machining sequences, selecting appropriate cutting tools, and determining optimal machine speeds, feeds, and work holding techniques. This role requires you to work from technical drawings, specifications, and setup sheets to independently run and program CNC lathes and mills. You will also engage in program edits as needed, adjusting tool offsets and promptly identifying and resolving machine or process issues. Partnering with the inspection department, you will help ensure finished products meet stringent quality standards and conform to detailed drawings.

Benchmark values safety above all else, and as a safety-sensitive position, this role requires adherence to strict safety and lean manufacturing principles, including 6S. The work schedule offers full-time hours from Monday to Thursday, 5:00 am to 5:30 pm, based at our Concord, CA facility. Compensation ranges from $41.00 to $52.00 per hour, factoring in experience, certifications, and other skills.
