The Machinist 1 position within the Manufacturing Division at Daniel Defense is a vital role responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate production of firearm components. This role requires a practitioner skilled in operating and troubleshooting CNC machinery, adhering to strict safety and quality guidelines. The Machinist 1 is expected to work closely with manufacturing engineers and supervisors to maintain cell productivity and uphold the company’s high standards. Primary duties include setting up and calibrating tools, performing inspections using precision measurement equipment such as micrometers and calipers, and making necessary adjustments to maintain product quality. Additionally, the machinist will play an active role in diagnosing issues that may impact production and quality, contributing to continuous process improvement efforts.

This role demands proficiency in blueprint reading, knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and understanding of machine tool programming languages (G and M codes). A foundational educational background coupled with practical manufacturing experience or related technical training is necessary to succeed in this position.
