Conagra Brands is a leading player in the food manufacturing industry with a rich heritage of producing beloved and iconic food brands such as Birds Eye, Slim Jim, and Reddi-Wip. With over 18,000 team members spread across more than 40 locations, Conagra Brands fosters a highly energized and inclusive culture where employees are empowered to develop their skills, contribute meaningfully, and advance their careers. The company prides itself on innovation not just in food production but also in workplace solutions, community impact, and environmental sustainability. At Conagra Brands, the focus is on building champions within their workforce as well as delivering top-quality food products to consumers. The company is committed to diversity and equal opportunity, encouraging applications from qualified candidates regardless of gender, race, sexual orientation, disability, veteran status, or any other protected classification. Reasonable accommodation is provided to support all employees’ needs.
This role is for a Production Cook (Machine Operator) supporting the 1st Shift operations at the Kent, Washington manufacturing facility. The position offers an hourly rate of $26.00 and operates from 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM. Reporting directly to the Production team leader, the Production Cook is responsible for preparing, monitoring, and inspecting baked goods on the production line. Key responsibilities include ensuring food safety and quality standards are consistently met, producing products according to set recipes and specifications, and maintaining equipment operational standards by conducting minor adjustments and safety checks. The role requires strict adherence to safety protocols, including Critical Control Points, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). The Production Cook will also support frequent overtime and weekend shifts, reflecting the high demand for this role.
In this onsite manufacturing setting, the Production Cook actively observes and removes any products that do not conform to quality standards, checks and records ingredient temperatures, operates production machinery, and completes necessary cleaning tasks using approved chemicals. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe production environment are essential. Candidates should expect to spend a great deal of time on their feet, performing repetitive tasks, and handling physical demands such as lifting, pushing, or carrying materials within a potentially noisy and temperature-variable facility environment. Overall, this position offers a hands-on opportunity to work within a reputable food manufacturing company that values innovation, employee well-being, and career growth.
