Job Description
This opportunity is with a dynamic and customer-focused restaurant known for providing exceptional dining experiences in a lively atmosphere. The establishment prides itself on maintaining a clean, efficient, and welcoming environment where guests receive timely and friendly service. With a strong emphasis on teamwork and quality, the restaurant offers a vibrant setting for both employees and patrons. As a food runner, you will be a pivotal part of the service team, acting as the crucial link between the kitchen and the dining area to ensure a seamless delivery of food and beverages to guests. The position offers both a competitive wage of $18.00 per hour plus tips and the benefit of working in a supportive environment where your contribution directly enhances customers' enjoyment.
The food runner role primarily focuses on assisting servers and bartenders by delivering orders swiftly and accurately to tables, restocking supplies and stations, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the service areas. You will be expected to restock the alcohol fridge, replenish utensils, plates, cups, and condiments, and ensure all food items are properly labeled and ready for service. Your responsibilities also include wiping down and sanitizing stations, managing various service equipment such as tongs, scissors, water bottles, and tea kettles, and assisting with dishwashing duties as necessary. Beyond these tasks, you will help in disposing of leftover foods and beverages and maintaining the organization of the service stations including expo carts and runner stations. This position demands a keen attention to detail, strong physical stamina to meet the job's demands, and excellent customer service skills to interact effectively with guests and team members alike.
Working as a food runner in this environment means you will regularly engage in activities that require physical fitness, such as standing for extended periods, climbing or balancing, stooping or kneeling, and lifting objects up to 50 pounds. Your ability to maintain proper techniques for lifting, pushing, and pulling will not only enhance your efficiency but also contribute to a safer workplace. The role also demands good vision capabilities, including close, distance, and peripheral vision, as you will need to navigate the restaurant floor and handle service equipment safely and accurately.
Employees in this role benefit from a comprehensive package that includes medical, dental, vision, supplemental life, disability, hospital, and accident insurance, highlighting the company’s commitment to employee well-being. After 90 days of employment, staff can participate in the company’s 401k plan, promoting long-term financial security. Additionally, paid sick leave accrues in accordance with hours worked, providing a supportive framework for employee health and work-life balance. This job is ideal for individuals with a passion for hospitality who seek a role that combines customer interaction with substantial operational responsibilities, within a reputable and employee-focused establishment.
