Job Requirements

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of work-related experience preferred
- Demonstrated discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment in handling sensitive and confidential matters
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively and tactfully with individuals at all levels, including residents, staff, families, external vendors/authorities, and the public
- Strong attention to detail in writing, proofreading, managing priorities, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment, demonstrating a cooperative, respectful, and compassionate approach to colleagues and resident care
- Skilled in the use of standard office equipment and technology
- Maintains professionalism, composure, and a positive attitude when managing challenging situations
- Physically able to move throughout the workday and lift items up to 50 pounds using safe handling practices
- May be necessary to assist with resident evacuation during emergency situations
- Complies with organizational health and safety requirements, including vaccination policies or valid exemptions
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook food items by following basic recipes and production guidelines, including seasoning, tasting, carving, and serving menu items
- Operate kitchen equipment and utensils to measure, mix, cut, peel, shred, and trim ingredients, including fruits, vegetables, meats, poultry, and fish
- Estimate food quantities, review menus, maintain production records, and requisition necessary supplies to meet daily food service needs
- Accommodate special dietary requirements and prepare meals to order, following verbal or written instructions as needed
- Receive and manage inventory, lifting and moving food supplies as required
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of workstations and equipment in compliance with regulatory and food safety standards
- Maintain all required documentation, including temperature logs, production records, and cleaning checklists
- Attend and participate in training, including ServSafe Food Handler certification (to be completed within 90 days of hire), and ongoing education opportunities
- Collaborate effectively with interdepartmental staff to ensure consistent, high-quality food service
- Contribute to a positive, warm, and respectful environment for residents and team members
- Serve on internal or external committees as assigned and follow all dietary procedures per facility policy
- Perform additional duties as assigned
