Job Description

The Westin Galleria Dallas is a renowned hotel located conveniently in Dallas, Texas, part of the esteemed Marriott International portfolio, a global leader in the hospitality industry known for its commitment to exceptional guest experiences and employee well-being. The hotel offers a prestigious atmosphere for both leisure and business travelers, emphasizing wellness, comfort, and exceptional service as part of its brand mission. As a full-service hotel, The Westin Galleria Dallas features luxurious guest rooms, extensive meeting spaces, dining options, and wellness programs tailored to ensure each guest’s stay is memorable and fulfilling.

The role of the Barman at The Westin Galleria Dallas transcends traditional bartending. This position is integral in creating a unique and memorable experience for guests by not only preparing beverages correctly but also by being a gracious host and a proactive ambassador of the bar. The Barman must possess basic bar skills while continuously seeking new market trends and adapting to evolving guest needs. This individual goes beyond the bar counter, taking personal responsibility for the guest’s direct experience, ensuring the bar’s appearance and function meet the highest standards of perfection. Establishing relationships within the hotel and the wider community is also a key aspect of this role.

The Barman role demands a passion for guest experiences, attention to detail in handling cash, providing guest information, and pride in the quality of beverages served. The position requires adherence to company policies, maintaining confidentiality, protecting company assets, and upholding quality standards. Professional presentation through uniform, personal grooming, and communication is essential at all times. The team member will be physically active, involving standing, walking, sitting, and performing various lifting or moving tasks safely, typically involving objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Flexibility and a strong work ethic are critical to fulfill all reasonable job duties effectively, contributing to the overall success of the guest’s stay and the hotel business.

In addition to a dynamic work environment, the position demands a high school diploma or equivalent, with GED programs accepted. Prior experience of at least one year in a related role is required, but supervisory experience is not mandatory. No special licenses or certifications are necessary. Marriott International is committed to equal employment opportunities, fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where all employees are valued and respected. The company champions diversity in culture, talent, and experience, ensuring a welcoming environment free from discrimination based on disability, veteran status, or other protected characteristics by law.

At Westin, the mission is to empower guests to restore control and enhance their well-being while traveling, helping them become the best versions of themselves. Achieving this goal requires passionate and committed employees who embody the brand’s unique wellness programs and practices daily, inside and outside the hotel. Ideal candidates are enthusiastic, active, and proud of maintaining their own well-being, while being optimistic and adventurous. Being part of Westin means working in an environment where you can perform your best work, start fulfilling your purpose, join a remarkable global team, and become your best self.
