Job Description

Liberty University is a prestigious Christian educational institution committed to training champions for Christ through exceptional academic programs and supportive campus environments. Known for its dedication to excellence, this university offers students a diverse range of opportunities to grow academically, spiritually, and professionally. As a faith-based organization, it integrates Christian values into all aspects of university life, fostering a community where individuals can thrive personally and intellectually while upholding strong ethical standards. Liberty University supports a wide array of departments and programs, with the medical school being a key component in training future health professionals who will carry forward the university's mission in healthcare and service.

This position is for a part-time Student Worker serving as the first point of contact within the medical school. Ideal for current Liberty University students eligible for Federal Student Work programs, this role offers a dynamic and engaging work experience on campus with shifts available Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Starting at $12.77 per hour, this role combines customer service, security, and administrative support functions to enrich the university's operational excellence. The Student Worker acts as a welcoming and professional face for visitors, students, faculty, staff, and guests entering the medical school. This position entails monitoring building access, managing visitor sign-in procedures, issuing visitor badges, and maintaining visitor logs in compliance with security protocols. The role is critical in ensuring a secure, organized reception area while offering assistance, directions, and general information about the school and campus resources.

In addition to reception duties, the Student Worker supports the Dean's Suite with various administrative and clerical tasks, helping maintain smooth operations within this pivotal department. Responsibilities include preparing conference rooms, assisting with administrative assignments, and upholding confidential handling of sensitive information. The position demands a professional demeanor, strong interpersonal communication, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to multitask effectively. The worker must represent Liberty University with the highest standards of professionalism, reliability, and Christian values as embedded in the university's mission "Training Champions for Christ."

This role offers an excellent opportunity for students seeking to develop valuable workplace skills while contributing meaningfully to campus life. It supports career growth within the higher education environment, emphasizing customer service, safety consciousness, and administrative proficiency. The environment is climate-controlled, ensuring comfort while navigating daily tasks. Occasionally, the worker may facilitate events outdoors or travel using personal or university vehicles, provided all the necessary driving approvals and insurances are met.

Liberty University is committed to inclusive hiring practices that comply with all applicable federal and state laws, not discriminating on the basis of race, color, age, sex, or other protected categories. As a religious institution, it also embraces its right to prioritize employees who share its Christian faith. This position does not involve supervisory responsibilities but offers an invaluable team-member experience characterized by collaboration, respect, and dedication to the educational mission of Liberty University.
