Line Cooks are expected to prepare food following exact recipes and procedures to comply with all health, sanitation, and personal hygiene standards. This position involves working closely with a team to ensure menu items are prepared efficiently and to the company’s standards, maintaining the quality and consistency that customers expect. Line Cooks are responsible for prepping ingredients, cooking food items using various methods such as grilling, sautéing, deep-frying, baking, and broiling, all within specified time limits to ensure prompt service. Additionally, they are tasked with managing their workstations by maintaining cleanliness, proper storage of ingredients, and adhering to safety protocols including the use of chemicals and sanitation products as specified in the Safety Data Sheets (SDS). This is a physically demanding role that requires standing for entire shifts, handling kitchen equipment, and lifting heavy items occasionally. Effective communication skills, the ability to multi-task in a busy environment, and a proactive attitude toward learning and adhering to company policies on grooming, safety, and customer service are essential. Hofs Hut values integrity and honesty, expecting similar qualities from its team members. Possessing a California food handlers card and having prior experience in a full-service restaurant setting are important prerequisites. Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of application
  • One or more years of full-service restaurant experience
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required
  • Knowledge of and ability to adhere to workplace safety procedures
  • Must be able to suggestively sell food and beverage items

  • California food handlers card
  • Moderate verbal and written communication skills

Job Duties

  • Working in a team environment with the ability to be an effective team player
  • Preparing, to order, all food items following standard recipes and procedures within specified time limits
  • Prepping assigned items associated with the assigned station, ensuring freshness of ingredients, labeling prepped ingredients with the name of item, date and time prepped, and initials or preparer
  • Grilling, sautéing, deep-frying, baking, broiling, etc. raw and prepped foods
  • Complying with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards
  • observing proper food preparation and handling techniques
  • Measuring and assembling ingredients and cooking items according to recipes and menu specifications
  • Maintaining cooking line in a clean, sanitary, and safe manner
  • returning ingredients to storage after use to ensure freshness
  • Follows SDS book for proper guidelines for use on chemicals and sanitation products
  • Stocking/restocking items on the cooks' line according to specifications
  • Washing and cleaning raw food products
  • Peeling, dicing, shredding, and slicing food products using manual and automatic equipment
  • Take pride in your personal appearance
