The role of Connected Solutions Construction Specialist at Baxter is a pivotal position focused on executing Nurse Call and Connected Solutions system implementations in healthcare environments. This full-time, onsite role is based in Fairfax, VA, and supports healthcare facilities in the surrounding area, requiring regular travel to local customer sites with occasional trips beyond the region for trainings and project support. The Construction Specialist will lead and manage the installation, configuration, activation, and testing of critical communication systems that enable healthcare workers to effectively coordinate patient care.

In this position, the specialist will collaborate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure that installations are conducted according to stringent project specifications and timelines. They will perform site inspections and quality reviews, address installation deficiencies, and provide technical support throughout deployment phases. They will also translate complex hospital workflows into actionable system configurations to optimize clinical communication. The role demands strong technical expertise in low-voltage systems, network connectivity, hardware and software troubleshooting, and healthcare technology solutions. Job Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in healthcare technology implementations, healthcare construction, low-voltage systems, clinical communications platforms, or IT infrastructure environments
  • experience coordinating installation vendors, contractors, or construction activities in healthcare, commercial, or technology deployment settings
  • experience troubleshooting computer hardware, software, network connectivity, and integrated technology systems
  • knowledge of network infrastructure, TCP/IP networking, system integrations, device deployments, and client/server environments
  • ability to read and interpret construction drawings, floor plans, wiring diagrams, and technical installation documentation
  • experience documenting testing, validation, issue resolution, and system acceptance activities
  • authorized to work in the U.S.

Job Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in healthcare technology implementations, healthcare construction, low-voltage systems, clinical communications platforms, or IT infrastructure environments

Job Duties

  • Lead onsite implementation and activation of Nurse Call and Connected Solutions systems for healthcare construction and renovation projects
  • coordinate and oversee low-voltage contractors, cabling vendors, and installation teams to ensure work is completed according to project specifications and timelines
  • perform site inspections, construction walks, system testing, and quality reviews
  • identify installation deficiencies and track corrective actions through completion
  • configure, validate, and troubleshoot hardware, software, network connectivity, and integrated communication systems during deployment and go-live activities
  • translate hospital operational and clinical workflow requirements into system configurations and implementation plans
  • provide onsite technical support before, during, and after implementation, resolving system, device, and integration issues
  • maintain project documentation, issue logs, testing records, and implementation deliverables throughout the project lifecycle
  • support additional Connected Solutions deployments, training activities, and implementation projects as needed
