The role of the Lounge Manager at Le Colonial Denver is integral to maintaining and elevating the restaurant’s reputation for excellence. Reporting directly to the General Manager (GM), the Lounge Manager is tasked with overseeing all lounge operations to ensure that the highest corporate standards of service are consistently met. This position calls for a dynamic leader who excels in guest interaction, team management, and operational coordination. The Lounge Manager is pivotal in creating a welcoming environment where guests feel valued from the moment they enter until their departure.

Key responsibilities include managing the lounge host stand, circulating throughout the lounge to maintain constant communication with servers and captains, and ensuring smooth reservation and seating processes using tools like OpenTable. The Lounge Manager must have a thorough understanding of all front-of-house roles and systems, including Silverware, and possess comprehensive menu and beverage knowledge. In addition to operational duties, the role requires supervising and coaching front-of-house staff, maintaining the restaurant’s ambiance—covering lighting, music, cleanliness, and hygiene—and acting as a liaison between kitchen and floor staff to address special requests and service updates.

The position is active and physically demanding, requiring the manager to be present during shift transitions, conduct pre-shift meetings, and assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling through HotSchedules and managing the wine and beverage program, including ordering and inventory. The Lounge Manager also plays a critical role in team development by coaching staff and participating in the hiring process, working closely with the GM and Assistant General Manager (AGM).

Candidates for this position should bring prior customer service experience, strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a team-oriented mindset. The role demands physical stamina and organizational expertise to handle the varied responsibilities within a fast-paced restaurant environment. Job Duties

  • Serve as the primary presence at the lounge host stand and circulate throughout the lounge
  • Maintain constant communication with servers, captains, and guests during service
  • Escort guests to tables during lunch and dinner services, adhering to seating standards such as introducing menus and assisting guests with seating
  • Proficiently use OpenTable for both front-of-house and back-end features
  • Supervise the front-of-house team, ensuring they adhere to their responsibilities and maintain high standards of guest care
  • Act as the liaison between kitchen and floor staff, assisting with special requests and menu updates
  • Maintain the restaurant's ambiance, including lighting, music, cleanliness, and hygiene
  • Proactively address guest queries and complaints, ensuring a constant presence on the floor
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings and complete DUB notes when necessary
  • Assist the AGM and GM as needed with administrative support
  • Manage the wine and beverage program including ordering and inventory
  • Continuously coach and develop team members
  • Make decisions benefiting overall restaurant health and performance
  • Conduct daily walkthroughs to ensure health and safety standards are met
