Job Description
Swissport is a global leader in aviation services, providing Ground Handling, Cargo Handling, and Passenger Services to over 300 million passengers annually. Established as a key player in the aviation industry, Swissport prides itself on delivering consistent and tailor-made solutions that enhance the customer experience worldwide. The company operates across numerous international airports, making it a trusted partner for airlines and travelers alike. With a firm commitment to excellence, safety, and innovation, Swissport continues to expand its footprint while maintaining high standards of service.
A vital part of Swissport’s offering is its network of over 50 airport lounges, branded as "Aspire Lounges," which serve as premium havens for travelers seeking comfort, convenience, and quality service before their flights. Aspire Lounges are designed to deliver a relaxing environment that is more than just a typical café or restaurant. Guests benefit from a wide range of amenities including extensive menu selections, a full bar, showers, on-site restrooms, dedicated business areas, and complimentary WiFi. These lounges operate 365 days a year, from early morning hours to midnight, ensuring accessibility and comfort for all travelers regardless of their reason for flying.
The role at Swissport involves managing the day-to-day operations of these lounge facilities with a primary goal of delivering an exceptional guest experience while ensuring operational efficiency and safety. This full-time position offers an annual salary of $97,000 along with comprehensive benefits including health and dental insurance, life insurance, a 401(k) plan with company matching, paid vacation, sick time, and company holidays. Swissport is committed to fostering a positive work environment that values diversity, inclusion, and collaboration among its employees.
As a Lounge Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of lounge operations, focusing on quality, health, safety, and environmental activities to minimize risks and promote a safe workplace. This includes managing profit and loss centers, supervising a team of hourly employees, and ensuring staffing levels meet the demands of the lounge while maintaining a high standard of guest service. The role requires active engagement with guests to address any concerns promptly, thereby enhancing customer satisfaction. Additionally, the manager will play a key role in identifying and developing talent within the team through coaching and ongoing feedback.
Administrative tasks such as financial management, payroll accuracy, and personnel duties are also essential components of this role. Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, airport administration, and other stakeholders is critical to the smooth functioning of the lounge. The manager will also be responsible for driving business growth through innovative sales strategies and creating a welcoming, clean, and discrimination-free environment that complies with all legal and company policies. This position is ideal for individuals with strong leadership skills, business acumen, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences in the aviation sector.
