Shaner Hotels partners with top hospitality brands and also manages independent locations. The company provides a comprehensive array of services including hotel development, design and construction, e-commerce, and revenue management, positioning itself as a leader in hospitality management solutions.
Among the many excellent properties managed by Shaner Hotels is the Philadelphia Residence Inn by Marriott Philadelphia Airport, which offers 121 rooms in a prime location near the Philadelphia Airport and several downtown historic tourist attractions. The Residence Inn provides guests with comfortable and modern accommodations, complemented by a lounge area perfect for evening relaxation, including an adjoining patio with a fire pit, creating a unique and inviting atmosphere.
The role available at this Philadelphia Residence Inn is for a Food and Beverage Team Member, offering a flexible work schedule including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts to provide exceptional service to guests. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that all daily operational procedures related to food and beverage services are completed in compliance with the hotel’s standards as well as Shaner and franchise specifications. Maintaining safety and quality standards for food and beverage operations is paramount, as is adhering to safe working conditions and operational procedures within the department.
The Food and Beverage Team Member is responsible not only for taking orders and preparing alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages along with light meals but also for maintaining stock, supplies, equipment, and cleanliness in the outlet to ensure a seamless guest experience. Guest satisfaction is a key priority; hence this role requires effective communication skills, the ability to respond to and resolve guest-related issues within the department, and consistent coordination with the General Manager, Department Managers, Supervisors, and staff.
This role requires a candidate with at least one year of experience in a restaurant or food and beverage environment and the minimum state age requirement to serve alcoholic beverages. The ideal candidate should possess the ability to interpret safety rules, operational and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Competent communication skills are essential for interactions with guests, team members, and management. Additionally, educational qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, although some college education is preferred. Training such as ServSafe or food safety and alcohol awareness programs like TIPS is advantageous.
The candidate should have familiarity with food and beverage cost controls and the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations accurately. Bilingual English/Spanish skills and knowledge of local attractions and activities tailored to the clientele are also considered valuable. Overall, this position offers a dynamic and rewarding work environment within a prestigious hospitality group dedicated to exceptional guest service and operational excellence.
