This boutique 134-room hotel offers stunning views of the Dayton Dragons baseball stadium from its rooftop bar and restaurant, as well as from the guestrooms themselves. The setting not only positions the hotel as a premier destination for visitors but also creates a dynamic and engaging environment for employees.
The role available is for a Bar Back, a vital member of the food and beverage team responsible for supporting bartenders in delivering outstanding service to our guests. The position entails a flexible work schedule that includes weekends, holidays, and variable shifts, reflecting the hospitality industry’s need for accommodating operations. The Bar Back ensures the cleanliness and upkeep of the bar area, service sections, and equipment, maintaining high standards of food and beverage safety and quality in accordance with Shaner Hotels’ specifications and franchise guidelines.
The incumbent will also be tasked with stocking all necessary wares and equipment required for seamless service, assisting bartenders by running food orders from the kitchen to guests efficiently, and upholding strict operational protocols to guarantee safety and compliance. Job Requirements
- Minimum one year of experience in the restaurant or food and beverage field preferred
- Minimum state age requirement to serve alcoholic beverages
- Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding
- High school graduate or equivalent
- ServSafe and/or food safety training a plus
- Alcohol awareness training such as TIPS
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus

Job Duties
- Be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts
- Ensures compliance with and completion of all daily operational procedures by the Food and Beverage Department
- Maintains food and beverage safety and quality based on hotel, Shaner, and Franchise specifications
- Maintains and abides by standards and procedures for operations and safe working conditions in the department
- Ensures communication with General Manager, all other Department Managers, Supervisors and Staff
- Other duties as assigned
- Assist bartenders in providing quality food and beverage service to guests courteously and efficiently
- Maintain the cleanliness of the bar, service areas, and equipment
- Stock all wares and equipment needed for service
- Assist bartenders in running food from the kitchen to guests
