Job Description
Campers Inn RV is a nationally recognized and family-operated RV dealership established in 1966 by Art and Fran Hirsch. Over the decades, it has grown into the nation's largest family-operated RV dealership, with nearly 50 locations across more than 20 states. Despite its expansion, the company retains family-focused values that drive its culture, emphasizing fairness, respect, and genuine care for both employees and customers. Campers Inn RV is widely respected within the RV industry and has been named a Top 50 RV Dealership in the United States every year since 2010. It has also recently been honored as one of the Top 5 Blue Ribbon RV Dealerships by RVBusiness. The organization’s vision is to be the trusted resource for RVers everywhere, driven by innovation, purpose, and a commitment to helping people enjoy the RV lifestyle to the fullest. They champion values such as integrity, teamwork, continuous improvement, and sustainability.
The Lot Porter/Forklift Driver role at Campers Inn RV is an essential position focused on maintaining and managing the dealership's RV lots. This role involves driving and towing RVs to support operational needs, including transporting RVs to and from service bays, stores, gas stations, repair facilities, and other locations as required. A vital aspect of the job is using the forklift, which varies by location, to assist with moving and organizing RVs efficiently and safely. The Lot Porter/Forklift Driver is responsible for keeping the lots neat, orderly, and in a 'sale-ready' condition, adhering to the dealership’s display standards. Responsibilities also include conducting daily inspections of the showroom and service entrance doors, washing and maintaining these areas as needed, and assisting with pre-delivery inspections. This position is classified as a safety-sensitive role, requiring meticulous attention to detail and a strong commitment to workplace safety.
Campers Inn RV provides a supportive environment where employees have access to ongoing career development opportunities including specialized job training, certifications, and professional growth initiatives. The company offers a comprehensive health and welfare package to full-time employees, which includes major medical, dental, vision, and life insurance options. Additional benefits include an employee assistance program (EAP), paid time off, and a qualified retirement plan with employer match. Compensation is competitive and fair, reflecting the importance Campers Inn RV places on attracting and retaining talented individuals.
Working in this role, candidates will experience a dynamic, fast-paced environment requiring multi-tasking abilities, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The job demands physical activity such as lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and occasionally climbing ladders, as well as the ability to operate various machinery safely, including forklifts and towing vehicles. The position also requires a valid driver’s license with a good driving record, as transporting RVs safely on and around dealership premises and external locations is key.
Campers Inn RV is dedicated to diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity in the workplace. The company prohibits discrimination and harassment on any basis including race, color, sex, religion, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, genetic information, pregnancy, or other protected characteristics. The commitment to a drug-free workplace further supports a safe and respectful work atmosphere. If you are passionate about the RV lifestyle, have the required experience, and seek a meaningful career with a reputable company, consider joining Campers Inn RV as a Lot Porter/Forklift Driver and contribute to a team that values your efforts and fosters career growth.
