The hiring establishment is a professional automotive service department dedicated to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization throughout the vehicle service and sales areas. The role in question is crucial in supporting the operational efficiency of the service department by ensuring that all vehicles are properly maintained in appearance and organization. This position involves a variety of tasks such as moving and cleaning vehicles, maintaining vehicle inventory by cleaning interiors and exteriors, replenishing fuel, and replacing batteries when necessary. The individual will also be responsible for placing buyer guides and stock tags on vehicles, keeping the service lot neat and orderly, and assisting Service Writers as requested. Additional duties include sweeping or vacuuming to remove debris, inspecting parts and equipment for cleanliness and compliance, and driving vehicles within the dealership as needed. This role requires a keen eye for detail, physical stamina to perform repetitive manual tasks such as lifting and moving vehicles and equipment, and the ability to follow safety standards rigorously.
The environment is active, with exposure to outdoor weather conditions and moderate noise levels typical of a busy automotive service center. Candidates must be comfortable working near moving mechanical parts and in varying weather conditions. Job Duties
- Washing and drying of service customer vehicles
- maintains new and used vehicle inventory appearance and performance by cleaning interior and exterior of vehicles, replenishing fuel as needed and replacing batteries when necessary
- places buyer guides and stock tags in vehicles
- keeps service lot neat and orderly, moving cars as directed by the manager and in accordance with dealership safety standards
- sweeps, shovels, or vacuums loose debris or salvageable scrap into containers and removes containers from work areas
- inspects parts, equipment, or vehicles for cleanliness, damage, and compliance with standards or regulations
- drives vehicles to and from service lane, service stalls, and parking lot as needed
- makes key tags for vehicles
- performs other duties as assigned
