The role of a Lot Porter at TEC Equipment is critical for maintaining the smooth operation and high standards of the company's service and sales environment. This position is vital in supporting the broader team to deliver excellent customer service and operational efficiency. As a Lot Porter, the employee's primary responsibilities revolve around maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of the lot, ensuring that the trucks and trailers are clean, presentable, and ready for delivery or customer viewing. The role demands versatility, blending physical tasks like cleaning and organizing with driving responsibilities such as safely moving trucks within the lot and transporting drivers and other personnel to various locations. The Lot Porter will also have responsibilities tied to parts management, including picking up parts from other dealerships and vendors, maintaining accurate inventory counts, handling core returns, and keeping the shop area tidy and organized.

This position requires a candidate who is self-motivated and can follow directions with strong attention to detail. Safety and compliance with company policies are paramount, as the job involves operating heavy equipment and handling tasks that require physical exertion, including lifting objects up to 60 pounds. Significantly, the role requires obtaining a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within six months of employment to operate commercial vehicles across state lines between Oregon and Washington. Job Duties

  • Keep lot neat and orderly moving equipment as directed
  • detail trucks ensuring they are clean presentable and fueled
  • keep shop neat and orderly clean the shop daily including taking out trash dumping scrap metal
  • safely pick up and deliver trucks and shuttle drivers to and from customer locations
  • pick up parts from other TEC dealerships and vendors
  • accurately count parts and return parts that are not needed and complete core return process
  • maintain proper parts inventory levels
  • safely and effectively use equipment
  • perform work with compliance to all company safety policies and procedures
  • occasionally assist technicians in repairs or service work on equipment
  • complete other miscellaneous tasks as directed by management
