Job Description

TEC Equipment Company is a prominent and well-established heavy-duty truck dealership headquartered in Portland, Oregon. With over 30 locations spanning from Seattle to San Diego and reaching into the Midwest, TEC Equipment Company serves thousands of customers across a diverse range of states including Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Arizona, Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota. The company is known for its comprehensive offering of new and used heavy-duty and medium-duty trucks including popular brands such as Mack, Volvo, Hino, and Isuzu, as well as a variety of trailers like Stoughton and Cottrell auto transport trailers. TEC Equipment is distinguished for providing a one-stop-shop experience for all trucking-related needs, thanks to its extensive inventory, quality parts, state-of-the-art service and collision centers, fuel services, leasing and rental options, financing, and insurance solutions. It is also an authorized service center for internationally recognized warranty programs including Mack, Volvo, Cummins, Meritor, Eaton, and Fuller.

The Lot Porter role at TEC Equipment is an essential position critical to the operational efficiency and customer service excellence the company prides itself on. As a Lot Porter, employees contribute significantly to keeping the dealership’s lot and shop areas clean, organized, and safe, ensuring that all equipment and vehicles are in pristine condition and ready for customer use or sale. This position is particularly versatile, with duties ranging from physical lot maintenance to driving various trucks safely to and from customer locations. Lot Porters are tasked with detailing trucks, maintaining cleanliness, coordinating parts inventory, and assisting with equipment transportation. The role demands strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols to help maintain the high service standards TEC is known for. It also offers an opportunity to grow, as new hires must obtain a commercial driver’s license within six months and will handle interstate driving routes predominantly between Oregon and Washington. TEC Equipment compensates this role with a competitive pay range from $22.75 to $28.53 per hour, reflecting the responsibilities and skills required.

This position is ideal for motivated individuals who enjoy a blend of physical work and logistical coordination, with hands-on involvement in a fast-paced trucking and heavy equipment environment. TEC Equipment’s strong commitment to employee well-being is reflected in its comprehensive benefits plan, which includes various health options, retirement savings with company contributions, life and disability insurance, paid time off, and education assistance. Additionally, the company fosters an inclusive workplace culture that values equal employment opportunities regardless of background or personal characteristics. Together, these elements make the Lot Porter position at TEC a rewarding career opportunity within a respected, multifaceted trucking dealership network known throughout the western and midwestern United States.
