The role of a Porter / Lot Attendant primarily involves maintaining new and used vehicle inventory by ensuring vehicles are clean, in good working order, and ready for customer presentation. This includes cleaning both the interior and exterior of the vehicles, replenishing fluids as necessary, replacing batteries, and keeping the lot neat and safe. The position requires good physical stamina and attention to detail to manage daily tasks effectively while meeting dealership standards.

Porters also play an important role in assisting the general manager by moving vehicles as requested, placing buyer guides and stock tags on vehicles, and ensuring that the dealership lot is orderly and visually appealing. Additional duties include driving vehicles between the dealership’s various service areas, clearing snow and debris to maintain safe pathways, and making key tags for vehicles. Being proactive and versatile, the Porter / Lot Attendant also performs other duties assigned to support the smooth functioning of the dealership.
