Job Description

Camping World is a leading retailer specializing in recreational vehicles (RVs) and outdoor camping gear, dedicated to delivering exceptional service and quality products to outdoor enthusiasts across the United States. As a prominent name in the RV industry, Camping World operates numerous locations nationwide, offering a wide array of RVs, parts, accessories, and services to customers who value adventure and quality time spent in nature. With a commitment to fostering a culture of customer satisfaction and employee development, Camping World continues to grow its team with individuals passionate about supporting the outdoor lifestyle. The company values diversity and inclusion, ensuring a welcoming workplace for all employees and customers.

The Lot Porter role at Camping World represents a critical position within the first-class service team responsible for managing the RV inventory lot. This role is designed for someone who enjoys hands-on tasks and takes pride in maintaining a clean, secure, and organized outdoor lot space where RVs are displayed and prepared for customers. As a Lot Porter, you will handle essential driving duties, such as moving and parking RV units efficiently and safely, ensuring that vehicles are presented optimally for sales and service purposes. You will also be responsible for performing regular maintenance tasks on the lot, including washing units, cleaning aisles, and managing waste to uphold a professional appearance and enhance the customer experience.

In addition to lot upkeep, the Lot Porter ensures all RV units have correctly displayed pricing and signage by installing and removing window prices as directed. They also carry out inspections and minor repairs, write work orders, and track any problems with the vehicles to guarantee the fleet remains in excellent condition. The role necessitates a keen eye for detail when securing units from adverse weather conditions and maintaining safety protocols around the lot to protect both customers and coworkers. Routine inventory checks and mechanical tasks such as operating slide-outs, managing jacks and awnings, and using equipment like yard tractors or forklifts are integral components of the job. The position demands physical stamina and the ability to adapt to various environmental conditions while following stringent safety standards.

Camping World offers competitive hourly wages for this role ranging from $15.02 to $28.71, depending on experience and skill level. Beyond pay, the company provides a robust benefits package including paid time off, a 401(k) retirement plan, an employee assistance program, Good Sam Roadside Assistance, employee discounts, paid parental leave eligibility, and tuition reimbursement opportunities. Full-time employees are eligible for comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage, while part-time workers have access to dental and vision plans. This combination of compensation and benefits exemplifies Camping World's dedication to attracting and retaining motivated and skilled team members.

If you are a motivated individual with experience in driving and managing RVs, and enjoy working in a dynamic, outdoor setting, the Lot Porter position at Camping World offers an excellent opportunity to join a respected company that supports your professional growth while encouraging a positive impact on customers’ recreational adventures. With a focus on safety, efficiency, and excellent customer service, this job is tailor-made for individuals who value teamwork, attention to detail, and maintaining high standards of operational excellence.
