Job Description
Butler Automotive Group is a well-established automobile dealership that specializes in providing high-quality new and used vehicles to customers. With a strong focus on customer satisfaction and dealership excellence, Butler Automotive Group operates in both sales and service departments to ensure a seamless car buying and maintenance experience for its clients. This full-time position as a Porter offers an opportunity to be part of a dynamic team committed to maintaining a clean, organized, and customer-friendly environment on the dealership lot. The Porter role is integral to the Butler Automotive Group's operational success as it involves daily vehicle maintenance, lot upkeep, and supporting the general manager and service teams with logistics related to vehicle preparation and presentation.
The Porter at Butler Automotive Group is responsible for moving and cleaning vehicles, maintaining them in excellent working condition, and assisting the general sales or service manager with assigned tasks. This position requires diligence and attention to detail to ensure the dealership lot is safe, presentable, and aligned with company standards that enhance the customer experience. Responsibilities include inspecting the lot daily to fill holes and remove trash, checking that used vehicles display the required Butler stickers and regulatory decals, and preparing new cars with necessary floor mats and addendum stickers from the parts department. The Porter must also secure keys properly and maintain cleanliness of the work area, along with handling trash management in the morning.
In addition to routine cleaning and moving of vehicles, the Porter replenishes vehicle fluids, replaces batteries as needed, and sets buyer guides and stock tags on cars. The role demands vigilance in maintaining the aesthetic quality and operational performance of the vehicle inventory and requires coordination with the general manager for vehicle placement in accordance with dealership display standards. The Porter contributes to the overall presentation by keeping the vehicle lots neat and orderly and performing additional duties like cleaning driveways and sidewalks to remove debris. Compliance with policies, such as not washing personal vehicles without manager approval, illustrates the professionalism expected in this role.
Working at Butler Automotive Group as a Porter means joining a reputable automotive company where vehicle presentation and customer impressions matter greatly. The position plays a crucial part in supporting sales and service teams and enhancing the customer experience through exceptional lot care and vehicle readiness. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work in an automotive dealership environment and are committed to operational excellence. The job is full time and reports to the General Sales Manager or Service Manager, providing a structured workplace environment with clear responsibilities and opportunities to contribute to the dealership's success thoroughly and consistently.
