Job Description
The hiring establishment is a well-established vehicle auction company dedicated to facilitating a smooth and efficient auction process for its customers and dealers. This company specializes in organizing and managing vehicle sales lanes, ensuring that vehicles move seamlessly through the sales lane to the auction block and parking after the auction. As a dynamic player in the automotive auction industry, the company prides itself on maintaining a high standard of operation, safety, and customer service. With decades of experience, the company has built a reputation for professionalism and excellence in managing large-scale vehicle auctions that cater to a broad network of dealers and buyers nationwide.
The role offered is for a Lot Operations Specialist II, which is essential to the success of the auction process. This position is responsible for coordinating the physical movement of vehicles through the stages of the auction, including the sales lane, to the auction block and subsequent parking. A key part of the role is to oversee the assignments of drivers, jump start and battery operators, and push truck operators to ensure the auction traffic flows smoothly and efficiently. The Lot Ops Specialist II conducts thorough inspections of support equipment to confirm proper working order, allowing for minimal disruptions during operations. The specialist leads pre-sale meetings with drivers to communicate return routes, overflow area protocols, and any plan changes needed for the day's auction. This ensures that all operators are fully informed and ready to execute their duties without delay.
In addition to operational oversight, this position includes conducting pre-sale walks through the lot to verify that vehicles are in their assigned lanes as scheduled, identifying any missing, inoperable, or overflow vehicles. The specialist maintains a detailed run list highlighting critical data points such as vehicles without keys, late vehicle entries, and number changes. Customer and dealer inquiries and concerns are handled promptly to uphold the company's commitment to exceptional service. The Lot Ops Specialist II also supervises the parking of sold vehicles and the re-parking of non-sold vehicles, ensuring orderly lot management and security throughout the auction day. Maintaining safety is paramount, with the specialist responsible for reporting any theft, lot damage, or safety concerns directly to management.
This full-time position offers an hourly pay range from $15.10 to $22.69, with the potential for commissions or incentives based on performance and location. The company values hardworking, safe drivers with the necessary skills to drive both standard and automatic transmission vehicles. Candidates with basic mechanical knowledge and prior auction experience are preferred, and the physical nature of the job requires individuals who can stand for extended periods, walk long distances, and lift up to 15 pounds. This role is outdoors with exposure to varying weather conditions, requiring resilience and adaptability.
Overall, the Lot Ops Specialist II is a pivotal role within the company’s auction operations team, ensuring the efficient flow of vehicle movement and the delivery of a smooth auction experience. Candidates are expected to demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple moving parts in a fast-paced environment. The company also promotes a supportive and inclusive workplace and is an equal opportunity employer, welcoming applicants who are authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship.
