Job Description
The hiring establishment is a reputable auction company specializing in vehicle auctions and related services. This company operates a dynamic and fast-paced environment where the facilitation of vehicle movement and the maintenance of order on the auction premises are critical to the overall success of the business. Known for its commitment to safety, customer service, and operational efficiency, the company prides itself on providing a supportive workplace that values professionalism and teamwork. The organization is dedicated to maintaining a safe auction environment, adhering strictly to safety protocols, and ensuring compliance with local driving regulations and internal policies. Employees are encouraged to actively participate in safety programs to enhance workplace safety excellence.
The role offered is for a Vehicle Mover who will be responsible for the effective movement and positioning of vehicles within the auction premises. This position involves driving vehicles between designated areas, following auction driving rules, and practicing defensive driving principles to ensure safety for all. The Vehicle Mover will coordinate with supervisors or team leaders to line up and park vehicles in the correct order and assist in locating vehicles that may be 'lost' on the lot. Additional responsibilities include helping to get vehicles operational by inflating tires, jump-starting vehicles using a battery box and air tank, and notifying appropriate personnel if vehicles are inoperative or out of fuel.
The role includes customer interaction, where the Vehicle Mover assists dealers, account representatives, rental agencies, and coworkers as needed, sustaining a high level of customer service. The candidate must demonstrate a visible commitment to safety by following all safety and health procedures, participating actively in safety initiatives, and reporting any safety concerns, damages, or thefts. The position demands an individual capable of effectively coordinating and directing vehicle movement to maintain the continuous flow of traffic, contributing to smooth auction operations.
Employment for this role is hourly, with a competitive pay range of $16.59 to $24.86 per hour. This range varies based on the candidate's location, knowledge, skills, and experience. Additionally, incumbents may be eligible for extra compensation through commissions or incentive programs. The company offers attractive benefits, including a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month, seven paid holidays annually, and additional leave such as bereavement, voting time, jury duty, volunteer time, military leave, and parental leave. This role requires individuals to be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, and the company embraces equal opportunity employment policies that include disability and veteran considerations.
