Job Description
Lum's GMC is a reputable and community-focused automobile dealership known for its dedication to providing exceptional service and value to customers. Operating as a family-oriented business, it has established itself as a trusted name within the automotive industry, particularly in the local community. The dealership offers a comprehensive range of GMC vehicles and maintains a commitment to making the car buying and ownership experience as seamless and enjoyable as possible for its clientele. Lum's GMC prioritizes employee satisfaction, believing that happy employees lead to happy customers, and it fosters a supportive and motivational workplace environment where hard work and dedication are recognized and rewarded. The company is actively involved in community engagement through various sponsorships including the Jason Goodding Memorial Fund, Yamhill County Fairgrounds, and the Willamette Valley Cancer Foundation, underscoring its commitment to giving back and strengthening community ties.
The part-time Lot Attendant/Porter position at Lum's GMC is an essential role within the dealership's sales and inventory management team. This role is specially designed for individuals who are enthusiastic, professionally personable, and customer-service oriented. The Lot Attendant/Porter’s primary responsibilities include verifying the receipt of new vehicles, conducting detailed damage inspections, and ensuring that all vehicles on the lot are parked neatly and maintained in pristine condition. The position demands acute attention to detail for tasks such as comparing vehicle serial numbers with invoices, recording any damage or missing accessories, and maintaining vehicle cleaning both inside and out. Moreover, the Lot Porter plays a critical role in inventory appearance by managing keys, stock control numbers, and ensuring that each vehicle complies with dealership standards and customer expectations.
This position is part-time and operates during the day shift with required availability on weekends, paying $17.00 per hour. It provides a balance between responsibility and flexibility, ideal for candidates who want to work in a dynamic and fun environment while supporting the dealership’s overall commitment to customer satisfaction. Candidates should demonstrate reliability, loyalty, and professional demeanor, as well as a passion for working with people and promoting the dealership's positive brand image.
Beyond the core duties, the Lot Attendant/Porter also helps maintain the lot by sweeping and removing debris, washing and waxing vehicles, replacing minor parts, and ensuring all appropriate window stickers and buyer guides are correctly placed or removed. This role is integral to sustaining the dealership's reputation for quality vehicles and superior customer service, contributing directly to the customer’s first impressions and ownership experience. It is also worth noting that this position requires candidates to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening, reinforcing the dealership’s commitment to safety and integrity.
Overall, working as a Lot Attendant/Porter at Lum's GMC offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to join a well-established and community-minded dealership. This role is not only about vehicle maintenance and logistics but also about contributing to a culture of kindness, respect, and community support – core values emphasized throughout the Lum Family of Dealerships.
