Job Description
The hiring establishment is a reputable automotive dealership specializing in both new and used vehicle sales as well as offering comprehensive service and body shop facilities. The dealership operates with a strong commitment to customer satisfaction, vehicle quality, and professional service. It is a key player in the automotive retail industry, known for maintaining a clean, organized, and customer-friendly environment that enhances the overall buying and servicing experience. As part of its service-oriented approach, the dealership ensures every department from sales to service, including vehicle display and customer wait areas, meets high standards of cleanliness and organization. This approach helps foster a positive atmosphere for customers and staff alike, promoting operational efficiency and business growth. The company culture emphasizes teamwork, professionalism, and adherence to safety and quality standards, making it a trusted employer within the automotive market. The position being offered is that of a Lot Attendant/Porter reporting directly to the Service Manager. This role is essential to the dealership because it keeps the new and used vehicle lots, service department, body shop, and customer drive-through areas clean, well-organized, and presentable. The Lot Attendant/Porter plays a pivotal role in ensuring the exterior and interior cleanliness of inventory vehicles, enhancing the visual appeal and overall customer experience. This position also involves moving cars as directed by management to align with facility display standards, ensuring that the vehicle lots remain neat and organized at all times. The responsibilities extend to cleaning the interiors including trunks and glove compartments to maintain a high level of vehicle readiness for customers and sales personnel. The role demands compliance with OSHA right-to-know training and dealership policies. Wearing the company-approved uniform is mandatory, underscoring the importance of a professional appearance. This entry-level position does not require previous experience but values mechanical skills, manual dexterity, and the ability to read and comprehend instructions. Candidates must hold a valid driver’s license and demonstrate good judgment in their tasks. The work environment is physically demanding, requiring frequent bending, stooping, crouching, and lifting up to 40 pounds. The role may also involve exposure to battery acid, gasoline, cleaning chemicals, and exhaust fumes, necessitating a strong awareness of safety protocols.
