The position of Loss Prevention (Security) Officer at the Omni Tucson National Resort & Spa is vital to maintaining the safety and tranquility of both guests and employees. This role involves patrolling the hotel property to ensure security, protecting hotel assets, and enforcing company policies and procedures. The Loss Prevention Officer is responsible for preparing detailed incident and accident reports, conducting thorough investigations into any crimes or safety concerns, and assisting guests and staff with safety-related inquiries. This role demands someone who is vigilant, detail-oriented, and capable of responding calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
In addition to patrolling and incident response, Loss Prevention Officers play a key role in monitoring building security systems, performing regular checks on alarm and fire safety systems, and managing visitor and vendor access to the property. They are tasked with maintaining accurate logs and security records, performing bag checks on associates leaving the premises, and providing discreet escort services to special guests requiring privacy. Confidentiality and professionalism are paramount when handling sensitive issues involving guests or employees.
Candidates for this position should possess the physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods, be able to communicate effectively through various channels, and have basic computer skills. First Aid/CPR certification is preferred, and a valid driver’s license with a good driving record is required. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, as the role demands availability for day, evening, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays. Job Requirements

- previous security or loss prevention experience preferred
- ability to stand and walk for extended periods

Job Qualifications
- Must be able to stand and walk for up to 8 hours per shift
- available for AM & PM shifts
- must be able to communicate effectively by telephone, email, radio and reporting
- must have basic computer knowledge
- must be able to reach various areas of the hotel/resort at a rapid pace if necessary
- First Aid/CPR certification is preferred
- must be able to remain calm and professional during stressful situations
- must have a valid driver's license with a driving record in good standing
- must be able to work a flexible schedule including day, evening, overnight shifts, weekends and holidays
Job Duties
- Patrol hotel property to ensure the safety of guests and employees and to protect all hotel assets
- answer house calls to assist both guests and associates with respect to safety, security and hotel operations
- initiate and follow up with all investigations of crimes committed against property and persons
- assist sick/injured guests or associates ensuring all documentation, reporting and witness statements have been completed within a timely manner
- initiate investigations, write incident and accident reports, monitor investigations to their timely conclusion, and ensure appropriate follow-up with guests, visitors and employees, documenting all contacts
- maintain accurate records while performing basic duties including, but not limited to, camera monitoring, shift activity log, codebook, and employee/guest interactions
- monitor/distribute visitor and vendor access to the property by distributing visitor badges
- perform frequent bag checks for associates leaving the property
- escort and interact with special guests that need privacy when entering/exiting the hotel through the heart of the house areas
- maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive guests or associate issues
- assist supervisor or director in checking alarm systems, safety and fire alarm systems and closely monitoring security of building doors, service areas, delivery areas and grounds
- assist hotel management in emergency situations by knowing all hotel safety procedures and leading/directing guests and associates to safety
- record, report, and correct any unsafe conditions while patrolling hotel property
- maintain a professional attitude and appearance
