Job Description
Gaylord Hotels, a distinguished portfolio under Marriott International, is celebrated for its leadership and innovation in the meetings and hospitality industry. Known for providing extraordinary environments, comprehensive services, and exceptional programming, Gaylord Hotels creates meaningful experiences that bring people together. As part of Marriott International, a globally recognized name in hospitality, Gaylord Hotels upholds a strong commitment to inclusivity, diversity, and equal opportunity employment. The company thrives on the rich blend of culture, talent, and experiences its associates bring, valuing every individual and fostering a supportive and dynamic work environment.
The Security/Loss Prevention role is a pivotal position within the Gaylord Hotels team focused on maintaining safety, security, and exceptional guest service. This role involves conducting thorough investigations relating to incidents such as theft, fraud, noise complaints, assaults, and food poisoning reports. The Security/Loss Prevention professional undertakes interviews to gather detailed statements and information from involved parties, ensuring accurate and comprehensive incident documentation. They work closely with management, local law enforcement, and other appropriate authorities to effectively handle emergencies, accidents, and disturbances while maintaining the orderly operation of the property.
This role demands a high level of vigilance and professionalism in conflict resolution, particularly in defusing altercations among guests or employees and escorting unwelcome individuals from the premises tactfully. Security/Loss Prevention also entails strict adherence to company policies and procedures, including safety protocols, confidentiality of proprietary information, and protection of company assets. The position requires sharp observational skills to identify potential hazards and defects in equipment, alongside proficient use of computers and point-of-sale systems for accurate information entry and retrieval.
Physical demands include standing or sitting for extended periods, movement at varying speeds including running, and the capability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds independently or with assistance for heavier loads. The role also necessitates navigating narrow, confined, or elevated spaces and negotiating uneven or slippery surfaces. This position is ideal for individuals who are attentive, responsive, and committed to ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all guests and team members.
Entry-level candidates with a high school diploma or GED and an interest in the hospitality industry’s security dimension are encouraged to apply, as no prior experience or supervisory background is required. Gaylord Hotels recognizes the importance of providing a supportive work culture where every associate has the opportunity to grow, belong, and become the best version of themselves. This comprehensive approach extends to offering a broad range of benefits designed to support employees’ wellbeing, empower their careers, and enrich their lives beyond the workplace.
Joining Gaylord Hotels means becoming part of a creative, entrepreneurial team known as STARs, whose dedication to big-hearted service defines the brand’s extraordinary guest experiences. The team environment here goes beyond traditional hotel roles, offering endless career development opportunities, access to exceptional resources, and a collaborative spirit that nurtures professional and personal growth. If you are looking to work in a place where inclusivity is celebrated, and your contributions matter, applying for the Security/Loss Prevention position at Gaylord Hotels is a strategic career move toward making meaningful impacts within a world-class hospitality company.
