Job Requirements

Restaurant experience is a plus
Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Ability to work standing for long periods and safely lift up to 50 pounds
Dependable and reliable
Self-motivated and self-initiated to maintain cleanliness and presentability
Ability to follow instructions and ask questions for clarification
Must be able to distinguish between various food flavors
Able to communicate accurately and professionally in all situations

Job Qualifications

Be able to write and speak English
Must have appropriate city, state, and federal certifications including alcohol and food handling certificates
Experience working in a multi-cultural environment
Outstanding and professional verbal and written communication skills
Ability to lead by example and motivate team spirit
Positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and write correspondence
Experience or understanding of POS or Host systems such as OpenTable

Job Duties

Greet guests as they arrive, ensuring proper seating arrangements and reservations check-in or providing a proper wait-list time if necessary
Engage with guests to ensure a great dining experience
Embrace the JINYA culture and participate in collective proper company greeting
Provide guests with menus, answering any initial questions and assisting with special accommodations
Communicate clearly and professionally with guests and team members, take reservations, and assign guests to proper tables while maintaining server rotation
Ensure cleanliness of Host station and any visible area to guests upon arrival
Support front of house operations including refilling beverages, organizing table arrangements, maintaining tables, polishing plates or glasses, and resetting tables
Respond to minor guest complaints and alert management of major concerns
Know restaurant information such as hours of operation, menu details, allergies, table numbers, and payment options
Promote and execute JINYA’s core values of Teamwork, Hospitality, Authenticity, Creativity, and Integrity
Complete projects or tasks as directed by managers or supervisors
