Job Description

IEH Laboratories is a nationally recognized leader in food safety testing services with a reputation for accuracy, reliability, and exceptional customer service. Established to serve the food production and processing industries, the company specializes in providing high-quality laboratory testing that helps clients ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations. With a commitment to scientific excellence and innovation, IEH Laboratories operates multiple facilities across the country, including a prominent site located in Seattle, Washington. This location plays a vital role in supporting the company’s mission to protect public health through meticulous and timely testing solutions.

IEH Laboratories is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Logistics Support at its Seattle facility. This is a full-time, hourly role with a competitive pay range of $21.00 to $22.00 per hour. The position comes with a fixed schedule, operating Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and offers a comprehensive benefits package following a brief waiting period. This package includes medical, dental, vision, life and AD&D insurance, long- and short-term disability insurance, health and dependent care flexible spending accounts, an employee assistance program, paid time off including sick leave and vacation, paid holidays, bereavement leave, and a 401(k) plan featuring an employer match.

The Logistics Support role is crucial to the smooth operation of the laboratory, providing essential assistance with sample and media preparation, sample processing, inventory management, and general laboratory maintenance and sanitation. Ideal candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced laboratory environment, possess strong communication and teamwork capabilities, and have a solid understanding of aseptic techniques. Physical requirements include the ability to regularly lift items weighing up to 30 pounds above waist level and occasionally lift items weighing up to 50 pounds. The role also demands flexibility, as occasional weekend and off-schedule work may be necessary to accommodate laboratory needs.

Prospective applicants should be aware that due to the nature of the environment, which involves exposure to various food allergens, individuals with moderate to severe food allergies are discouraged from applying to ensure safety and well-being within the laboratory setting. Additionally, candidates must hold a valid U.S. driver's license with a clean driving record to fulfill duties that include occasional courier tasks and equipment transportation.

This position offers a unique opportunity for individuals looking to contribute to a respected food safety organization, gain hands-on experience in laboratory logistics and operations, and become part of a dedicated team committed to food safety and public health. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply by accessing the company's job posting online where they can submit their cover letter, resume, and references as a single PDF file along with optional self-identification surveys. IEH Laboratories is an Equal Opportunity Employer supporting veterans and individuals with disabilities, emphasizing a commitment to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
