Job Description
IEH Laboratories is a reputable leader in the field of food safety, with a strong commitment to ensuring the highest standards of laboratory testing and analysis. Located in Seattle, WA, IEH Laboratories has built a distinguished reputation for providing reliable, accurate, and timely microbiological testing services that help clients uphold food safety regulations and quality assurance protocols. The company operates a modern and well-equipped facility, staffed by a dedicated team of professionals who work diligently to maintain a safe and compliant laboratory environment. IEH Laboratories prides itself on a culture of continuous improvement and excellence, fostering a work atmosphere that encourages teamwork, communication, and professional development.
The Logistics Support position at IEH Laboratories plays a vital role in the day-to-day operations of the laboratory. This full-time, in-person position, based at the Seattle facility, offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $21.00 to $22.00. The work schedule is fixed, operating Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 6:30 pm, with occasional weekend and off-schedule hours required based on laboratory needs. This role is essential to supporting the laboratory staff by managing various logistics tasks critical to smooth laboratory operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of logistical and laboratory support tasks. These duties include media and sample preparation, sorting and logging samples, assisting with specific sample testing steps under supervision, maintaining inventory control, washing glassware, and conducting general laboratory cleaning and sanitation tasks. The role also involves occasional courier duties, moving pallets and laboratory equipment using a pallet jack, as well as supporting building maintenance and housekeeping responsibilities.
Because the laboratory environment includes exposure to various food allergens, candidates with moderate to severe food allergies are discouraged from applying. The ideal applicant will possess a high school diploma or GED, have a strong understanding of aseptic technique, be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate effective communication and teamwork skills. Physical requirements include the ability to regularly lift 30 pounds above waist level and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
IEH Laboratories is committed to fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace, offering competitive pay and a variety of benefits after a short waiting period. These benefits include medical, dental, vision, life and AD&D insurance, long- and short-term disability insurance, flexible spending accounts for health and dependent care, an employee assistance program, paid time off for sick leave and vacation, paid holidays, bereavement leave, and a 401(k) retirement plan with up to 3% employer match after meeting eligibility criteria. This role represents an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking steady employment in a scientific and highly regulated environment with room for growth and development.
