Job Description
Northrop Grumman is a global leader in aerospace and defense technology, providing innovative solutions that have a profound impact on national and global security. With a rich history of pioneering breakthroughs—the first transatlantic flight, stealth bombers, and moon landings—this company continues to drive technological advancements that shape the future. Northrop Grumman fosters a culture of intellectual curiosity, diversity, and inclusion where employees are encouraged to bring their whole selves to work while working on revolutionary projects. The company emphasizes an insatiable drive to achieve what others consider impossible, making employees part of history in the making.
Northrop Grumman Mission Systems, a division of Northrop Grumman, specializes in delivering mission-enabling solutions for global security through secure, affordable, integrated, and multi-domain technologies. The division offers advanced battle management and cybersecurity solutions that provide superior situational awareness and critical mission information to protect the United States and its allies worldwide.
The position of Logistics Support Coordinator is based in Elkridge, Maryland, and is part of the Production Control Team within the Mission Systems division. This role supports both sustainment and production programs and requires close collaboration with Production and Sustainment Planners, Manufacturing personnel, Operations Program Management, Quality control, and Engineering departments to ensure smooth workflows and material availability.
The Logistics Support Coordinator is responsible for inventory management, materials tracking, and handling orders related to rework, replacement, repair, and scrap processing. The position involves coordinating the processing of non-conforming materials, managing materials transactions using SAP/ERP systems, monitoring materials flow on the production floor, and maintaining a safe and efficient workplace adhering to AS9100 standards. This role also supports production scheduling by overseeing work-in-progress flow and prioritizing critical parts to meet delivery commitments. Effective communication with various departments is essential to resolve material shortages or production bottlenecks. The job involves physical activities such as lifting 30-40 lb. hardware and demands flexibility for shift work or extended hours based on business needs.
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED with at least three years of relevant experience in inventory, manufacturing, production control, logistics, or business coordination. The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret clearance is mandatory, and U.S. citizenship is required. Experience with Microsoft Office is essential, while familiarity with SAP ERP and GOLD government tracking systems and an associate's degree or higher are preferred.
Northrop Grumman offers a comprehensive benefits package that supports employee growth and well-being. Benefits include health insurance, savings plans, paid time off, education assistance, training and development opportunities, and flexible work schedules where available. The salary range for this position is between $52,094 and $125,390 annually, with additional potential for overtime, shift differentials, discretionary bonuses, and long-term incentives for qualifying positions. Northrop Grumman is committed to equal employment opportunities regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, national origin, age, veteran status, or disability. The company emphasizes fairness and transparency in all aspects of employment and compensation.
