The role available is that of a Lodging Facility Assistant Manager NF3, where the incumbent will work closely with the Lodging Facility Manager to oversee the operational, supervisory, and administrative aspects of the lodging facility. This position is essential for maintaining high-quality lodging services that meet the needs of Marines and their families, ensuring their comfort and safety. The Assistant Manager will assist in budget preparation, maintain records, supervise employees, and ensure that security and safety protocols are strictly followed.
In this role, one will be expected to manage vendor accounts, accounts receivable and payable, and maintain inventory levels to ensure the facility is properly stocked. The position demands a strong focus on customer service, requiring an outgoing and diplomatic personality to handle customer interactions effectively. Job Requirements
- Must have three years of experience in hotel or lodging business administration
- Must be familiar with business practices and market conditions related to the program
- Must be able to operate various office machines including personal computers
- Must have effective communication skills both oral and written
- Must possess an outgoing personality and ability to handle customers with tact and diplomacy
- Should have good telephone etiquette
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Knowledge of NAF policies is a plus
- Must be physically able to lift and carry objects up to 45 pounds independently and over 45 pounds with assistance
Job Qualifications
- Three years of experience in hotel or lodging business administration
- Familiarity with business practices and market conditions applicable to program and technical requirements
- Ability to operate office machines including personal computers
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Outgoing personality with tact and diplomacy for customer interactions
- Good telephone etiquette
- Supervisory experience in hotel or lodging preferred
- Knowledge of NAF policies and procedures preferred
- Ability to supervise employees and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, subordinates, officials, and others
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 45 pounds independently and over 45 pounds with assistance
Job Duties
- Assist the lodging facility manager in the overall operation, supervision, and administration of the facility
- Assume all duties and responsibilities in the absence of the manager
- Assist with the preparation of annual activity operational budget, other reports and documents
- Maintain records and files
- Assist in the supervision of assigned employees, approve or disapprove leave requests and complete performance evaluations
- Verify daily attendance and time cards
- Prepare work schedules
- Ensure that security, safety, and housekeeping rules are followed
- Maintain and enforce security for funds, merchandise, supplies and equipment to prevent fraud, waste, and abuse
- Provide on-the-job training, instruction, and guidance to employees
- Manage vendor accounts, accounts receivable and payable, and inventories
- Ensure adequate supplies are on hand, properly stocked, and materials are in good order
- Support Marine Corps Equal Employment Opportunity policy and ensure compliance with fire, safety, security, sanitation and environmental issues
- Provide customer service with an emphasis on courtesy
- Assist customers and communicate positively in a friendly manner
- Take action to solve problems quickly
- Alert higher-level supervisors or proper points of contact when needed
