Job Description

CompHealth is a leading provider of locum tenens services, specializing in connecting healthcare professionals with temporary assignments that range from a single day to several years in duration. Unlike traditional job boards that merely list openings, CompHealth offers true opportunities with a personalized approach, ensuring every placement aligns with the candidate's specific career phase and individual needs. This company prides itself on expert guidance and comprehensive support, helping physicians and advanced practitioners navigate the complexities of locum tenens work with ease and confidence.

CompHealth operates in the healthcare staffing industry, focusing on temporary medical roles across a variety of specialties. Their services include negotiating competitive pay rates, handling credentialing and privileging processes, and providing complimentary housing and travel arrangements, along with comprehensive malpractice coverage. The company’s dedicated recruiters work closely with healthcare professionals to manage every detail of the assignment, offering an unmatched level of service and commitment. With a commitment to simplifying the locum tenens process, CompHealth leverages technology through an online portal where clinicians can access assignment details and submit time entries, fostering transparency and efficiency.

The role offered by CompHealth involves providing direct patient care in an outpatient setting, typically Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm with a one-hour unpaid lunch. The typical patient load ranges from 12 to 20 patients per day. The healthcare professional will receive support from nurse practitioners and physician assistants, enhancing the team-based approach to patient care. The scope of practice includes outpatient women's care procedures like pap smears, minor surgeries such as laceration repairs, and orthopedic procedures like joint injections. The patient demographic is diverse, ranging from newborns to geriatric patients, requiring versatility and comprehensive clinical knowledge.

A minimum six-month commitment is required for each assignment, giving healthcare providers meaningful and stable work periods. CompHealth negotiates better pay on behalf of their clinicians and ensures weekly deposit of compensation. Additional support includes complimentary housing and travel, comprehensive malpractice coverage, and assistance throughout the credentialing and privileging process, making it easier for providers to focus on patient care without administrative burdens. Through a specialized recruiter assigned to each healthcare provider, CompHealth guarantees attentive support and personalized service throughout the assignment duration.

By partnering with CompHealth, healthcare professionals gain more than just a temporary assignment—they receive a tailored, supported, and rewarding locum tenens experience, designed to match their unique career goals and lifestyle preferences.
