Their primary focus is to enhance employee engagement through health and wellness programs that span fitness, nutrition, ergonomics, wellness coaching, and health promotion. Operating within a corporate wellness framework, Plus One emphasizes personal connections backed by hospitality, empathy, and an enjoyable atmosphere to help individuals adopt and maintain healthier lifestyles. As a nationally recognized entity within the wellness and fitness sector, Plus One enjoys a reputation for delivering high-impact programs that improve workplace culture and employee well-being.
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Locker Room Attendant to join our team at a prestigious fitness center located in Downtown San Diego, CA. This role is ideal for dependable individuals who value cleanliness, order, and customer service excellence. The position operates Monday through Friday during afternoon and evening shifts, with open availability for occasional weekend coverage preferred to meet the dynamic operational needs of the facility. This opportunity is offered as a temporary full-time position with the potential to transition into permanent employment following a successful 90-day period.
In this role, you will serve as a front-line representative for the facility, greeting members and guests with warmth and professionalism as they enter. You will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of locker rooms, restrooms, and all related areas to ensure they are always clean, well-stocked, and presentable. Your duties will also include performing laundry services—washing, drying, folding, and organizing towels and linens—supporting the overall hygiene and convenience for members.
A key aspect of the position involves collaboration with team members to promote a positive, supportive environment that fosters teamwork and member satisfaction. Adherence to established health and safety guidelines is critical, as is contributing to the maintenance of both indoor and outdoor gym facilities to enhance the overall member experience.
The ideal candidate for this position will possess prior experience in housekeeping, maintenance, or similar roles, and exhibit strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with members, guests, and colleagues. If applicable by location, obtaining CPR/AED and First Aid certifications will be required (these will be reimbursed per company policy).
With a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion, Plus One offers equal employment opportunities regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic. We foster a drug-free workplace where all team members undergo pre-employment drug testing.
Compensation for this role ranges from $15 to $18.50 per hour, based on factors that include education, experience, certifications, and geographic considerations. Alongside competitive pay, Plus One provides a comprehensive benefits package that supports both health and financial security as well as personal and professional growth. This includes various health insurance options, retirement savings plans, paid time off, wellness programs, and opportunities for career development through certifications and continuing education.
Join Plus One and become part of a vibrant, mission-driven organization dedicated to improving wellness at work, enhancing lives, and cultivating a supportive community for all employees and members alike.
