Job Description
Hub Group Final Mile is a leading logistics company specializing in final mile delivery services across the United States. Known for its efficient and reliable delivery solutions, Hub Group Final Mile partners with retail, manufacturing, and wholesale clients to ensure seamless transportation of goods from distribution centers to customers' doorsteps. The company operates with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction, leveraging advanced technology and experienced personnel to streamline last-mile logistics. As part of a larger transportation and logistics network, Hub Group Final Mile provides essential services in the final leg of product delivery, helping clients meet their delivery commitments promptly and professionally.
The role being offered is for Non-CDL Independent Contractors who will work as Driver Helper teams delivering and installing home appliances using 26-foot box trucks equipped with lift gates. This is a contractor-based position ideal for owner-operators who either own, rent, or lease their trucks and ideally have a driver helper to assist with deliveries and installations. The employment opportunity promises home-daily routes with local deliveries, guaranteeing a consistent schedule. Compensation is competitive, offering gross weekly earnings between $3,500 and $3,750 per truck. Payment is processed weekly with direct deposit, and contractors have access to online settlement portals for payment tracking and management.
Contractor teams are primarily responsible for delivering large home appliances like refrigerators, microwave ovens, dishwashers, washers, dryers, and similar items directly to customers’ homes. In addition to delivery, the role requires basic installation skills to ensure appliances are functional and correctly set up according to manufacturer specifications. This combination of delivery and installation makes the position unique and valuable to customers, as the team provides a full-service experience from drop-off to setup.
The ideal candidates will have valid driver’s licenses with clean driving records and the required insurance and operating authority regulated by the FMCSA, or must be willing to obtain these credentials. They must have their own set of professional tools necessary for installing appliances and should either have prior professional experience as appliance installers or a willingness to learn the trade. Ability to follow complex installation instructions and handle equipment safely is essential. The job involves physically maneuvering heavy items and working collaboratively as a two-person team to complete deliveries efficiently and safely.
Working as an Independent Contractor for Hub Group Final Mile means benefiting from a well-established company with a solid reputation in the logistics industry, offering the flexibility of self-employment while providing steady work on a local scale. This opportunity suits those who value autonomy and want to leverage their delivery and installation skills in a dynamic field that supports work-life balance with home-daily operations. Hub Group Final Mile supports its contractors with weekly settlements, direct deposit payments, and a reliable process for managing earnings through online portals, ensuring transparency and ease of use.
Overall, the position offers a competitive income with the freedom and responsibility of managing one’s own route and team, backed by the infrastructure and standards of a trusted logistics provider.
